G-Unit was founded shortly after 50 Cent left Columbia Records. The original members were: 50 Cent, Bang Em Smurf, Domination, Lloyd Banks, Sha Money XL & Tony Yayo. These rappers collectively established the group as a whole in 2000; however, after Yayo got a prison sentence 50 Cent signed Young Buck and along with himself and Banks became the three faces of G-Unit. Smurf and Domination left the group due to some problems with the General, 50 Cent.
After being shot, 50 Cent signed to Interscope Records. Due to the success of his commercial debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', he was granted his own record label. This was when 50 and Sha Money XL founded G-Unit Records.
The group continued to work hard and released several mixtape series which earned them a lot of attention in the rap industry. The most prominent of these being 50 Cent Is the Future, God's Plan, No Mercy, No Fear and Automatic Gunfire. G-Unit have also started a mixtape series with their DJ, DJ Whoo Kid, called G-Unit Radio.
These mixtapes gave them a gigantic buzz throughout New York City, which eventually led to 50's first solo album Get Rich or Die Tryin' selling over 12 million copies.
Before the group had a chance to record its debut album, Tony Yayo was sentenced to prison for a gun-possession charge as well as bail-jumping. During Tony Yayo's prison sentence, the group signed Nashville rapper, Young Buck. They continued their activity, working on yet more mixtape recordings. In particular, their 'G-Unit Remix' to 50 Cent's "P.I.M.P." was successful.
During Tony Yayo's prison sentence, G-Unit recorded their debut album, Beg for Mercy. The album was quickly released on November 14, 2003 to combat bootlegging and had significant commercial success. Tony Yayo made only two appearances on the album, both on songs that were recorded before his arrest. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts and sold over 4 million units.
50 Cent later went on to sign The Game, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Olivia, Spider Loc andMase. The Game was asked to be put in the group by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. 50 Cent agreed, and gave 7 of his records which was supposed to go on his second LP The Massacre. After The Game went on the radio and said that he had no problems with some rappers 50 Cent had issues with, 50 felt that Game was disloyal and kicked him out of the group, which lead to the infamous G-Unit vs. The Game/Black Wallstreet meet and beat off.

Wherever I go, he go
My buddy, my buddy
You can run for your life I'ma stick'em, out the window
My buddy, my buddy
I lay your ass out motherfucker is simple
Stay in your place I recommend or say hello to my little friend
Cause my buzz gettin' strong And they mad I'm on
He ride with me when I'm past the mall
And wait for me on the bench when I run a game of basketball
One squeeze will make a bastard fall
Gasp and crawl
You need a bulletproof vest mask and all
Bring your buddy when it's time to roam (why?)
Cause I got hit the last time I left mine at home
My hand bling full of platinum his shine is chrome
He even got closet space inside of my home
He ain't never been broke he glitchless
And So reliable I bought him a rubber coat for Christmas
Infrared beam and a scope for distance
The best company when approaching business
He who ride with me til the end
We all gotta friend
And mine is a G-U-N
My buddy, my buddy
Wherever I go, he go
My buddy, my buddy
You can run for your life when I stick 'e, out the window
My buddy, my buddy
I lay your ass out motherfucker is simple
Stay in your place I recommend or say hello to my little friend
My buddy gotta temper he dyin' to pop off
Last time he did the cops had the block all locked off
Take them with me to hustle stashed him in the trash can
My finger tips sore for 4 hours I bagged grams
You meet him his destination hell or heaven
Cause I only bring em out for that 187
He don't have a heart I just keep feeding him shells
He get it poppin' in the hood so his name ring bell
Ms Jones stay on the third floor she call the cops on me
They came I ran I had to toss my other little homie
Niggas they all got new friends so they stay in their place kid
I stay screamin' on niggas and beatin' up base heads
These niggas aint thorough they just like to pretend
Keep fuckin' around they goin' say hello to my little friend
My buddy, my buddy
Wherever I go, he go
My buddy, my buddy
You can run for your life when I stick 'e, out the window
My buddy, my buddy
I lay your ass out motherfucker is simple
Stay in your place I recommend or say hello to my little friend
We been through it all yet we both still livin'
We been in a box but we both still spittin'
And when there was beef you even played your position
Got under the seat until we spotted our victim
At first they wouldn't listen to they heard you go off
Remember it was broad daylight in the middle of New York
And little did they know we was ready for war
Bet that nigga wished he'd never stick his head out the door
See whenever you come out something happen on the block
You the reason that nigga done stop rappin' like Pac
People see you ain't run and you even say shit
They just know you ain't nothin' to play wit
Stay wit 16 homies and one in the hole
When the first one get out the next one go
To know where your headed you gotta know where you been
The glock stay with me we friends till the end
My buddy, my buddy
Wherever I go, he go
My buddy, my buddy
You can run for your life when i stick'em out the window
My buddy, my buddy
I lay your ass out motherfucker its simple
Stay in your place I recommend or say hello to my little friend
The song "My Buddy" by G-Unit is an ode to a firearm. The lyrics use the term "my buddy" as a code name for the gun that the rapper is carrying with him at all times. The opening lines of the chorus, "Wherever I go, he go, You can run for your life when I stick 'e, out the window" make it quite clear that the "buddy" being referred to is not a person. The gun has become a trusted companion to the rapper, and he relies on it to keep him safe in dangerous situations. The lyrics describe how the rapper brings his "buddy" with him everywhere he goes, and how he feels lost without it.
The song also describes the power that the gun gives him. The lines "One squeeze will make a bastard fall, Gasp and crawl" express how the rapper feels invincible with his "buddy" at his side. In addition, the lyrics mention how the gun has saved the rapper's life in the past, such as when he was "running a game of basketball" and had to use it to defend himself.

+ryan knox Lloyd Banks had a successful solo career.
His debut sold over 430K first week.
Went on to sell 1.7 million in the US.
His total worldwide sales were nearly 3 million if I'm not mistaking.
So saying he never got to blow isn't accurate.
It's more like he came up.
Rotten Apple was very underwhelming.
He came back with HFM2 and that album should've been the follow up to HFM but many of his fans moved on.
Rap fans are fickle.
