Problems
G.B.A Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The song "Problems" by G.B.A features verses by several iconic rappers, including Mase, Diddy (then known as Puff Daddy), and The Notorious B.I.G. The lyrics of the song revolve around the idea that the more money an artist makes, the more problems they encounter. The opening lines ask who is hot and who is not in the rap game and who has sold out in stores. Then, Mase brags about his success and how he guarantees a million sales. Diddy, meanwhile, talks about his power and authority in the industry and emphasizes that he calls all the shots. Finally, Biggie comes in with his famous flow and rhymes about the dangers of fame and fortune, but also about the joy that comes with success.

Overall, the lyrics of "Problems" point to the challenges that come with achieving fame and success in the music industry, including the pressure to maintain one's status, the scrutiny from others, and the possibility of losing touch with one's own values and principles. The repetition of "I don't know what they want from me, it's like the more money we come across the more problems we see" reinforces this idea, suggesting that despite all the rewards that come with success, there are also many pitfalls and challenges.

I am Daddy, the man in charge. You would rather see me fail than succeed. I am the one who makes all the decisions. I take all the spots, wear all the jewelry, and buy all the cars. You must be wondering what happens when the ballin' stops. Even when I'm not home, you can call me on my yacht. Ten years from now, we'll still be on top. I've already told you that we won't stop. With a crew that has more money and is stronger than yours, what will you do? If you cross me, be ready to face the consequences, we don't play. My name is Big Poppa, and I keep my activities hidden from the DEA. Federal agents hate me because I am too conspicuous. My phone is tapped to their base in the basement. My team and I stay clean and are a force to be reckoned with. My lyrics are like a triple beam of power in my dream world. I am at all events, and my presence is undeniable. I carry my guns and girls on my shoulder. I'm the Playboy that everyone knows. For me, mere microphones are nothing. I can get violent sometimes and lose my cool, but it's because I'm hanging out with the wrong crowd. But I never lose my touch. If I did, I would not hesitate to get my gun. Where are the real players at? Throw your Rollies in the air and wave them side to side while I look at your girl. You can see me flossing with my lyrics in Fortune magazine. My album is platinum plus, and I am dangerous on tracks that will leave you flattened.

What's goin' on? What's goin' on? (Somebody tell me) What's goin' on?
What's happening? Can someone tell me what's going on?

This is a shame because I personally sell modded gameboys on ebay here in UK.
I sometimes route my wires in different ways (always checking they are not caught on screws) but once they are in, they aren't going anywhere. It's not as if they are going to be moved around enough to come loose or anything. I also add all the screws necessary to hold all the parts together and not leave anything out.

The biggest thing I do is test it!
I plug in all 3 types of gameboy cartridges and also hook up a link cable to ensure its all working correctly.

People like this give other modders like me a bad name.
Gotta say I'm not a professional by any means but I know enough to get the job done properly and securely and remember guys,
ALWAYS package that thing like its a bomb before posting it! I test my packaging by throwing it across the floor, if I couldn't do that then I certainly wouldn't trust any postal service.

Anyway happy modding everyone, these gameboys look fabulous.

Glad I sent it to you, good to know it wasn't something obvious I was missing there lol. And fwiw, the one I bought off of Etsy was MUCH better built then this one, I checked the wire routing, much cleaner, and it included the foam pad and proper screws (which I recall being missing, the board just popped out when I took the back off of it). My second one also appears to be using replacement pads, but they feel fine to me, only minor issue is rarely, the top of the screen will go grayscale and jutter a little bit, which I assume is related to poor connection.

@graniteburger

so, who did you buy this GBA from? I bought from RetroModding (in Canada), and their work was great.

@TheMerauder75

@Janice My second modded GBA was from GodofGaming on Etsy, the bad one from Ebay I forget exactly who the seller was since the listing is long gone.

@englishbannana1232

@Greg Wicks i bought some buttons and a shell from him. The shell was pretty poor quality tbh

@Bringmejoycon

Greg's an OG, everyone follow him

@DiddyKongVsLuigi

@Greg Wicks Thank you! The Godofgaming sellier is also on Ebay. I found him/her and literally searched on YouTube and stumbled upon this comment. You’re recommendation will be taken in good faith. 🍻😎👍🏽

@TTTKyouma

I've started selling pre-modded gameboys that I made. I made sure that they work before I put them up for sale.

Not even testing your builds before putting them up for sale just makes the rest of us modders look bad.

So yes, ALWAYS TEST before doing anything else.

@bignugget711

Same here, I also started doing the same and seeing this makes me sad and puts a bad taste in some peoples mouths just because of one idiot

@DK-210

It's always fun trying to play detective for half-assed mod work :D

@SoulSilverIV

It would be interesting to see the schematics for that ribbon mod and find out exactly what that missing pin is meant to supply, and therefore see if that would tie in with the symptoms you're seeing. Another great video btw!
