Michael Geist, also known as DJ Ghost, formed GGFH in 1986. After releasing several demo tapes and playing the occasional live show, Brian J. Walls joined the band and the duo were eventually signed to "Dreamtime Records" in 1992.
GGFH toured briefly with the metal bands Fear Factory and My Dying Bride and shortly after the tour, Brian J. Walls left the band to pursue other interests (1993).
Over the next 10 years DJ Ghost started a graphic design company and gained notoriety as a DJ. After the release of “The Very Beast of GGFH Vol. 1” in 2001, DJ Ghost decided to begin work on another GGFH LP.
With the absence of Brian J. Walls, the band’s main song writer, DJ Ghost looked to a handful of contributors to help write new GGFH material.
Serrated Smile was released in 2005.

Feel it in the air
Don't you see it coming
Disease is everywhere
I'm waking up, feeling sick again
Getting weaker
I'm feeling sick again
Oh please God, set me free
So I try again
I've gotta try once more
I fall out of traction
And crawl across the floor
The smell of urine, broken glass
The toilet overflows
Eyes so irritated that they're
Swollen closed
I see a shadow or something
In my head
There's nothing out there
'Cause everything is dead
Out of the window
It seems that nothing's moving there
Only burning rivers
And the smoke filled air
As I return to cover
I wish that I was free
Human disease
Has finally got the best of me
Screaming out
But I don't know what for
None to hear me
No one left anymore
Broken bottles
Discarded human waste
Nothing can keep the flies
Off my bandaged face
The constant humming - kept alive by a machine
I'd like to cut the cord and wake up from this dream
Can't you see it?
Feel it in the air
Don't you see it coming?
Disease is everywhere
Virus is getting stronger
I think I've lost control
No longer in my body
I'm just an empty hole
Take another pill
Inject myself again
I'd like to go to heaven
But they won't let me in
I'd turn on the light but it burns my eyes
I'd say that I could fight but that would just be lies
Reaching out - I see your sunlit face
How could you leave me in this hellbound place?
The song Disease by G.G.F.H. describes the horrors of being infected by a deadly virus, and the despair and hopelessness that accompany it. In the first few lines, the song sets the tone by describing the presence of disease in the air and the feeling of it approaching. As the song progresses, the singer describes their own personal struggle with the disease - the constant feeling of sickness and weakness, the loss of control, and the desire for freedom. The imagery in the lyrics is vivid and disturbing, describing broken glass, overflowing toilets, and bandaged faces covered in flies.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of isolation and abandonment - the singer's cries for help go unheard, and they are left alone to suffer. The constant repetition of the phrase "disease is everywhere" reinforces the idea that there is no escape from the infection, and that it is a constant presence in the world.
The final lines of the song are particularly powerful, as the singer reaches out to a loved one but is unable to be with them due to the disease. The song's overall message is a poignant reminder of the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other in the face of global health threats.

Nights.
In which the flesh is burning.
A searing fire from the deep.
The temptation then to scratch
It
From the bones.
To feed
It
To the spirit within.
Yet even He would recoil
From the contemplation
Of such rot.
