theyre waiting for the new FIA and etc racing specs to enter their newly designed GT-R into production until then theyll keep pushing the vr38. Expect nissan to design their new block around those specs and boost parameters as well as a potential new tire. As part of a homologation process/aspect. Nissan couldnt afford to produce a "new" gtr/platform if they would in-turn have to adapt that chassis/platform to the new coming FIA spec. As its ever changing with EPA/Power per cylinder/boost/displacement/tires.

@Alen Green Yeah, they improve upon it over each generation, if you put the current and previous gtr up against each other, you will notice a huge difference. If you put the gtr up against another supercar of its class, it will put up an equal fight. You don't get their design philosophy. Also you should appreciate that they are keeping cars like the r35 and the 400z in production despite the severely limited budget and are catering to our needs.

My guess is Nissan marketing and engineering departments recognized that releasing new Z and GTR platforms in the same year would be cost prohibitive, manufacturing inhibitive, and would end up cutting into the sales of eachother as Z buyers with excess cash would just go straight to the R36. My bet is a mid 2022 reveal with a 2023 model codifying and 2024 sale date.

Seems Nissan is making do with the limited budget. I appreciate that the GT-R and Z still exist. I can see that Nissan is making some great decisions after the Ghosn debacle. The ZF9 speed in place of the Jatco CVT is a massive improvement.

@XtremeGTI Ferrari 458, and Porsche Turbo if u want the AWD and Four seats are not Special edition cars. Atoms and Caterhams are road legal so while track day marketing oriented. If you can stomach the urban driving yes they can do the daily basis just not good. Yes track day but never are roadlegal.
For the Price of a launch 2007 GTR which I can point out is £65,000 - £75,000 you can get any Atom or Caterham R500 at that time that can match or exceed the GTR at the track and have enough change from that money for a actual good "rest of the day car" which is tune of £15,000 - £25,000. At that point you wouldn't care about one car when u can have two. Not cheap at all as u apply.
My argument is that the GTR category isn't so special as you apply and can work around for better vehicles or much more appealing ones. Hence why most the manufacturers like Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Weren't so worried about contesting a segment of the GTR sits as they plainly don't see the appeal, and non the market. Don't get me wrong I understand what you mean, but as the person in the video points out most buyers it tries to appeal to don't care for the Nissan GTR in the first place Sadly.

Ooooh I forgot about the E60 M5 (favorite M5 BTW), solid contender but difficult to compare a 4 door saloon, but it is the world's best super saloon. You see, I'm still not sure where the R35 actually sits. It's not an out right super car, or track car. The superlights would kill it on the track, porsches as well, but at the time of it's launch, it was in a league of its own. It seems, if you choose a category, you'd be able to find a different car to compete in each, but hardly any that could compete in all.

Only The R8 4.2 was the true contender to challenge the GTR R35 base on price alone tho and track abilities with 4WD. Though if you wnated all out numbers We can throw in serveal Atoms and Caterhams which will laugh at the R35 for lap times. Need confort? E90 M5 and E60 M3 say Hi close track times while being more appealing Brand wise, and numbers being close while being much better confort wise. As for launching I think the Porsche Turbo probably would be the closest to beating it. While the Atom Special verisons and Caterham R versions do however close if not beat it in terms of launch times and do at the time cost similar if not lower than that five figure "supercar" number beating GTR.

This was extremely painful to watch...... In comparison, i greatly enjoyed the reveal video of that beast of a MUSCLE CAR that was shown in 2018. Further, even an interview with that brilliant engineer from the Ghost Squadron airfield of Sweden was insightful & enjoyable..... there are interviews with the guy from Italy who builds custom motorcycles which has a swingarm instead of forks on the front of his bikes.......... You gotta appreciate brilliance, But this was torture to watch. Its like spending an hour talking to your neighbour about the colour of your house......and the guy has seen it for years because he lives next door.

If i'm being honest, any change to the design, they would probably get trashed for for changing the iconic look on it. So if you like it as it is, don't complain about how it looks. I love the look and i'd hate to see it any other way. Although they could change the horsepower, how it looks should stay as is change my mind.

i want the next generation to be a amalgamation throwback like the Z. Main body should be styled after the original 1970 GTR, front end reminiscent of the R34, Rear End like the 72-74 era GTR and an all new interior. looks same to me. they just lock the ecu reduce pipes size. every 4 yrs they just increase 1psi turbo and 1/2 in pipe size. if they do it will cover by factory warrenty but if we do, won't cover factory warrenty.
