World Ablaze
GAEREA Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Into a world ablaze
With wonder in his eyes, he takes a deep breath
For a fleeting moment, a dance with life's depth
Born and raised trapped in a cage
A man confined, his spirit bent
Dreams locked away, his heart suppressed Yearning for a taste of freedom's zest
To be set free, at the end of his days
Into a world ablaze
With wonder in his eyes, he takes a deep breath
For a fleeting moment, a dance with life's depth
Mountains rising, kissing the sky
Rivers flowing, echoing lullaby
The colors of life, vibrant and bright
For a single moment, he's part of the light
The wind whispers stories, caressing his face
The sun's gentle warmth, a long-lost embrace
He walks through fields, untouched and wild
The Nature's symphony, melodies compiled
To be set free, at the end of his days
Into the world ablaze
With wonder in his eyes, he takes a deep breath
For a fleeting moment, a dance with life's depth
As twilight falls, he finds solace within
For he's tasted freedom, despite the world's din"
The lyrics of GAEREA's song "World Ablaze" express a profound journey of liberation and self-discovery, tracing the evolution of an individual who has long felt constrained by their circumstances. The repeated refrain of being "set free at the end of his days" suggests a culmination of life's experiences, culminating in a moment of release and transcendence. This idea highlights the significance of the end of life not merely as a conclusion, but as a transformative experience where one can finally embrace the essence of existence. The imagery of a "world ablaze" evokes a sense of vibrancy and intensity, hinting at a reality filled with boundless opportunities and vivid experiences that the singer longs to finally engage with.
The lyrics paint a poignant picture of confinement, symbolized by the metaphor of being "trapped in a cage." This prison can be interpreted as societal restrictions, personal fears, or even internal battles that inhibit the man's spirit and suppress his dreams. The yearning for freedom is palpable, as it reflects the universal human desire to break away from limitations and explore life's potential. The emotional weight of "dreams locked away" indicates that the character has not only suffered physically from confinement but has also endured an emotional toll, leaving his heart craving liberation. This struggle serves as a powerful reminder of the essential nature of dreams and aspirations, framing freedom not only as a physical state but as a crucial element of the human experience.
In the transition to a landscape filled with natural beauty, the lyrics delve into the invigorating power of nature as both a healing force and a representation of ultimate freedom. The imagery of "mountains rising, kissing the sky" and "rivers flowing, echoing lullaby" evokes a sense of awe and wonder, a stark contrast to the earlier feelings of entrapment. This environment symbolizes a vibrant world rich with potential and joy, illustrating the man's awakening and appreciation for life. The moment of dancing with life's depth, as described in the lyrics, is emblematic of an epiphany where he experiences a brief yet profound connection with the universe. Itβs in this fleeting moment that the man feels a glimpse of what it means to be truly alive β deeply immersed in the beauty surrounding him.
As the song progresses, the singer finds solace in the embrace of nature, signifying a reconciliation with the self. The wind, sun, and untouched fields further enhance this theme of harmony, as they seem to guide him toward a deeper understanding of his existence. The final moments reflect a mixture of tranquility and enlightenment; even as twilight descendsβa metaphor for the end of lifeβthere is a serene acceptance that he has experienced the essence of freedom. "Despite the world's din" implies that even amidst chaos and noise, he has carved out a space for peace within himself. This concluding note encapsulates the transformative power of nature, the journey of liberation, and the ultimately restorative experience of embracing lifeβs beauty, even when faced with its inevitable conclusions.

This song is incredibly thought-provoking to me, this is a total shot in the dark, but I'm assuming that the writer/singer is singing about freedom from substance abuse:
"Born and raised trapped in a cage
A man confined, his spirit bent"
Or
A dying man's last breath, and the beauty of life being revealed to him on his last and final breath:
"To be set free, at the end of his days
Into a world ablaze
With wonder in his eyes, he takes a deep breath
For a fleeting moment, a dance with life's depth"
Or
Someone breaking free from depression and seeing the beauty of what they have been given.
I am open to more hidden messages of the song, honestly I think it's one of IF NOT the best black metal for me personally, I love metal music that has lyrics with deep life meaning.

Black metal is no longer a sound, but an emotion. This is beautiful, I cannot understand the emotions I feel from hearing this. But I know that this speaks to me, and I hope to many more people around the world.
@matromero1919
It always has been that, the cold, solitude, rawness, caos, angriness and disgust, was the main emotions and motivs that bm wanted to emulate through the sound. BM was always about emotion and melody, and every band has their form to do that, someone want the gritty low budget sound, someone a more quality and others an in between.
@FreyjaJ
This isn't black metal. It's still extreme metal, but calling it black makes no sense. Completely different sound and atmosphere. Djevel, for example, makes black metal. Not being mean or critical, truly, I just grew up listening to black metal because my father was around the Norwegian scene in the 1990s.π€

@@FreyjaJno itβs post black metal, for sure itβs not TNBM. But reducing BM only on True Norwigian Black Metal is just nuts.
