Best...game...ever... :') memories... Sapphire, Steven, Abandoned Ship, Archie, Maxie, Kyogre, Gym Leaders, May, My Amazing Treecko (still will always be my first Pokemon), my Golden Mightyena and every other Pokemon I had in that game! :') I love it all.

The nostalgia of the joy I had is killing me.. I am crying now. All of the good memories have come flying back in one great reminiscence. This makes me remember the wonderful summer days when my sister and I would go for a walk and have a picnic at a lake then play Pokemon ruby and sapphire together. Such memories! :')

The slow tempo, the long piano notes in the background, really make me think of a beautiful ocean. Massive, paceful, a life dwell, majestic, sending a wave of fresh air to the coast.
Also, the fact that it's a chiptune brings me back some of the best memories from my childhood. These happy summer holydays, where I could stay up late and play lots of videogames, go to the beach to have a swim, and absolutely forget about school. This is what this song reminds me of.

This isn't just reminding me of my childhood playing pokemon, but my entire childhood at the time. My my old school, my old friend, and most importantly, my pet dog who passed away long ago....These songs have a really deep meaning to me, even though it's been years since I've last listened to any. Here, I finally find myself in a genwunners shoes...and here I never thought that something like a video game could have such an impact on someone, and were nothing but a form of entertainment....

When I entered the Oceanic Museum, I wasn't even paying attention to the music since I had the volume down. When I made my way upstairs I found the model of the S.S Anne and the music got to about where the trumpet plays and it dawned on me... "The song playing in the background is a remix of the S.S. Anne theme and I didn't notice until now." I stood there and gave the S.S. Anne one last look as memories of playing Pokemon Blue and Yellow came rushing back to me. I'll admit, I shed a tear.

Altough I played Yellow and Gold/Crystal I never had the consciousness as a child as when I started to play Ruby! This takes me back to the time when I struggled with Yellow but also how much I loved Ruby and discovered every corner of the game🙏🏼

You know they used a lot of older games theme the sound font for RSE. I have a feeling the SS Anne theme was one of those but then they decided to use it because they liked it so much and it would be a nice reference. The lilycove art museums also uses a variation of the theme.

Hearing this song made me wrack my brain for years trying to find why it was so familiar... all of a sudden towards the end of 2011 I walk into this museum and remember it. :D It was a nice realization.

Let's see what changed. The synthesizer sound is replaced by a string section, they added the viola playing alongside the first part of the trumpet solo, a second trumpet replaced the synth on the last part, a glockenspiel is added and actually replaced some of the piano.

You know it's been years, pokemon sapphire was the first game that got me hooked on pokemon. The new games are alright but this gen will always have a massive place in my heart no matter what. At one point of my life I was in such a shithole I really thought of killing myself. I had this game along with mystery dungeon red rescue team and a bit of anime. If it wasnt for these things I wouldn't have made it to the point in life I have now. The friends I made since and even tho Its been years this soundtrack will always warm my heart when I play emerald on my emulator. Thank you pokemon for everything you did for me

. ruby and sapphire were challenging ( new games are not )

operation B.E.N I truly don't agree with you. I have never played Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire myself (OK, just a little), but you're quite off in several ways. The music of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald set a nice precedent for the remixed soundtracks of the remakes, which expand upon the originals and make them sound better, brought to greatest life and fullest potential in 3DS quality. You can't say "they really ruined the music in the new games" just because it doesn't sound exactly the same. If the old games were really that much more challenging, then you can always just go back and play them. Besides, in the new ones, you have Mega-Evolved Pokemon to fight against. How will you deal with that? Have you even taken the time to try? Lastly, the remakes were meant to expand upon the memories of the originals, not replicate them in exactly the same way. Have you even heard this soundtrack in the new games? It's smoother, and the inclusion of the violin in the OST was an amazing way to beautify the soundtrack and give it new life and meaning. If you keep on being so closed to new games and their advancement, you'll never have your eyes open to great things like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Don't you think?

Oh boy, when i played this, it was right after i got out my dads red version and i played emerald version. After i finished red i got to Slateport and i remembered the SS Anne. I creid and to this day i havent played Emerald again. Maybe i`ll get it out again

im younger than the games so i never got to experience it when most people did, but omega ruby was my first pokemon game, and i got torchic. after a while i decided to play emerald on original hardware. i got treeko (named 'TAKO').

im a trans girl, and my dad is homophobic, and he was being mean to me, and as i got to this section in the game that i completely forgot about, i heard this song after the guy said thank you for saving me. he said "Izzy, thank you for saving me!" and with this music and hearing my new name instead of my old one, i genuinely almost cried /pos

i was playing in the bathroom with the volume low as it was past my bedtime, and i layed on the bathroom floor for genuinely 30m. every time i hear this song i wanna cry so much /pos
