In these lyrics, GQ is expressing a desire to have a good time and enjoy the dance floor. The repetition of "Yeah yeah yeah" at the beginning sets the energetic and playful tone of the song. GQ encourages the listeners to shake their bodies and let loose, encouraging them to "shake it down to the floor."
He emphasizes his ability and willingness to throw himself into the dance, suggesting that he wants to make the most of the moment. GQ mentions wanting to bounce that ass for a playa, indicating that the song is meant to inspire a carefree and confident attitude while dancing. He also mentions popping bottles and showing off for the models, suggesting a party atmosphere, where everyone is letting go and having fun.
The second verse addresses a specific girl, suggesting that this song is about empowering women and their ability to express themselves through dance. GQ encourages her to take off her inhibitions and let go while moving in a circle and bouncing her booty with skill. The reference to "no hands" implies a level of skill and control in her dancing.
GQ further praises the girl for her rapid hip movements and fast-paced booty shaking. He acknowledges that she is living life on her terms, confidently doing things that others can't quite grasp. The repetition of "Living life doing it the boss way" reinforces the idea of empowerment and self-expression.
Overall, these lyrics celebrate the joy of dancing, particularly the freedom and confidence that can come from shaking one's body on the dance floor. It encourages listeners to let go, have a good time, and embrace their own unique style of movement.

One of my favorite songs ever. I love GQ! "Shake make no mistake" "give it all you gotta, no Fred Astaire or notta", who comes up lyrics like this?? Love it!!

If this song had been released just 2 years earlier, it would've peaked in the top 10. By 1982, so many people had jumped on the anti-disco bandwagon that a killer track like this was basically ignored.
Steve858
They were still stuck in 70's and music changed in the 80's and Arista dropped them. Kashif changed the game with electronic Soul
