MA
GRAND Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

On aura croisé, tes doigts

Tes grands yeux bleus
Je tairais ta magie et tes envoûtements
Chuchoterais ta douceur, de temps en temps.

Ne me parlez pas de Dieu!
Ne me parlez pas de croix!
Ne me parlez pas pour eux!
Ne me parlez pas de foi!
Oubliez vos vieux livres,

Overall Meaning

The song "Ma" by GRAND is a heartfelt tribute to a loved one who has passed away. The lyrics convey a sense of grief, but also a deep appreciation for the person and their life. In the first verse, the singer imagines their loved one's body lying in a wooden casket, about to be buried, and wishes for their soul to soar above the rooftops. There is a sense of longing for the person's presence, even though they are gone, as indicated by the reference to "crois[ing] tes doigts" (crossing your fingers).

The second verse is a reflection on the person's life and qualities. The singer chooses not to speak of specific physical attributes, but rather hints at the person's magic and enchantments. The repetition of "Je ne dis rien" (I say nothing) emphasizes the weight of unspoken emotions and the impossibility of fully expressing them.

The third and final verse is a rejection of religious and societal norms surrounding death and mourning. The singer adamantly declares that they do not want to hear about God, crosses, or faith. This rejection extends to the idea of justifying suffering and the hypocrisy of those who claim to be righteous but are actually consumed by greed and ignorance. The last lines express a desire to join the loved one in death, to be reunited with them in the "nothingness" (ce rien) of the grave.

Overall, "Ma" is a poignant and poetic expression of grief and love, and a rejection of conventional clichés and traditions.

Lol, I've been spending HOURS trying to:
A.) get MA2 onPC to communicate to Capture.
B.) trying to import the Capture file into MA 3D.

Both a failure.
Why does MA Lighting hate Capture? They don't hate WYSIWYG.

Apparently, MA2 onPC v2.9 could communicate with Capture Argo but that's old tech.

Did you go to school kinda in the same dilemma just don’t know who offers classes in texas or what school to look for

@Source 713 I went to school to learn a lot of the basics in theater on an ETC console. So this feels like learning a new language/dialect comparatively. Currently employed by a company that uses HOG4 and GrandMA2 and I’m hoping to become fluent in the both over the next few months.
