One of the best classical pieces by one of the best classical composers... amazing that he wrote this when he could hardly hear. As a side note, hearing this song, as well as the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky, makes me want to blow stuff up.

This is a wonderful rendition of this most amazing piece of work. I suppose my favorite is the rendition by the Berlin Philharmonic when conducted by Zuben Meta. This comes very close.

Beethoven lost his hearing but still created this wonderful masterpiece, however there are 36 people does lost hearing but cannot even play(sing) a single note of this piece

the point being made has nothing to do with semantics. The painting @:30 depicted a moment in Beethoven’s life when, confronted with the aristocracy, he chose to ignore them with marked disgust. As the story goes, a friend questioned Beethoven’s "appalling" behavior. The maestro's reply was, "there are many of them but only one of me". In reality, the Oligarchy constitutes a small percentage of the world's population but Beethoven was outnumbered at that moment and responded bravely.

It was the next day my brothers,and i had truly done my best morning and afternoon to play it there way and sit like a horroshow corporate malchick in the chair of torture while they flashed nasty bits of ultra violence on the screen!,but not on the soundtrack my brother the only sound being music. And than i noticed in all my pain and suffering what it was that i cracked and bloomd It was Ludwig Van. 9th Symphony 4th Movement!

I can only say in a millenium this would still be considered as one if not the best composer! Bieber ? Gaga ? in five years they are forgotten. Beattles Elvys Jackson? A line in history book in a century nothing more. Beethoven at least a whole chapter. This is pure genius, no marketing behind.

Beethoven used Ode to joy as a basis, some of the lyrics are his own that he put in, but this, his 9th symphony is commonly called "Choral"

Even though this is Beethovens Choral symphony it is not always that the final movement is sung,I have had a recording of it without the singing,and though to me it was a mistake it IS NOT unpleasant to listen to the final movement played alone by a full Orchestra.

GBTTK videos...I agree with you he was Austrian, My Grandparents are from Austria,and growing up I heard the stories of Beethoven being totally Austrian,since My Junior High School Music Teacher begged to differ,and said My info was untrue,and My Granparents were just appleasing me,lol,lol Yes,100% accurate he was full blooded Austrian, But I disagree,currently owned by Germany,but back then it was completely Austrian territory...He is and always will be a Austrian,Proud of it!
