The lines on my face
Show the courage that I'm lacking here
And the beauty that awaits
Home is just a word
Without a time or place
I've fallen in and out of love
And I can't wait to start again,
No I can't wait to start again,
When the darkness and unknown become your friend
No I can't wait to start again
The voice of a thousand whispers
With answers I can't find
I made promises to the wounded love
In the corner of my mind
When the night before has left you
And the smoke has filled your lungs
When you don't know what you've come here for
Or the person you've become
And I can't wait to start again,
No I can't wait to start again,
When the darkness and unknown become your friend
No I can't wait to start again
Oh, oh and the agony's turning into thought
Oh and nothing is what I thought it was
Oh and the agony's turning into thought
Oh and nothing is what I thought it was
And I can't wait to start again,
No I can't wait to start again
When the darkness and unknown become your friend
No I can't wait to start again
In Gabrielle Aplin's song Start Again, the lyrics touch on themes of self-discovery and personal evolution. The opening lines suggest that the singer is in the midst of a tumultuous period in life, as symbolized by the "cracking surface" and "lines on [her] face". But rather than dwelling on this, she acknowledges the potential for growth that lies ahead, and the beauty that could come from this process.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of restlessness and longing for change. The singer says that "home is just a word without a time or place", suggesting that she doesn't feel settled or content in her current situation. She also describes falling "in and out of love with the loneliness [she's] traced", which could be interpreted as a reference to the cyclical nature of her emotional state. However, she remains hopeful that the future will offer new possibilities, and says that she can't wait to start again.
The chorus is particularly poignant, as it reinforces this desire for renewal. The darkness and unknown that the singer mentions could represent the uncertainty that comes with major life changes, but instead of fearing it, she welcomes it as a friend. The repetition of the line "no, I can't wait to start again" gives the song an uplifting, determined energy.
Overall, Start Again is a song about resilience, self-reflection, and the ability to find strength in difficult times. The lyrics are evocative and heartfelt, and the melody and instrumentation complement the mood perfectly.

Skins Pure was so beautiful. Showed how people noticed Cassie's beauty from within, and not just physical beauty, something she struggled with as a teen :')
@jordanjames5042
Yes!
@guillermoruiz9087
Yes, but she didn't Matter being beautiful, she wanted to shy and to be in peace with her little brother.

Skins has touched my heart so deeply that whenever I hear the soundtrack I get intense nostalgia. I swear, I wish I could forget I had ever watched all the seasons so I could re-watch them freshly and I could relive the magic all over again. We'll all miss you dearly, Skins <3
@judatihw9871
ugh even seven years later i still feel the sameeee
@bruenettenbarbie
Skins is one of my favourite shows ever. It was amazing to see all these characters grow and generation 1 and 2 definitely were the best. Generation 3 was great as well but in my opinion you just could empathize better with the characters from generation 1 and 2. I think what most people liked about the show was that you could see how the characters grew up and not only them, you grew up with them as well
@katyhendy1984
i disagree with you I personally think generation 2 (season 3 and 4) are easier to connect to. I have a strange connection to skins and that is because of the characters from generation 2. But I certainly agree that you grow up with them x
@sarajones6682
Well said :) x
