Gaitana Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Take my hand, let's enjoy
From the bottom of my heart I wish you the best
You can be my guest, guest
You can be my guest
You can be my guest
People, be my guest
(Lala lalala...)
(Lala lalala...)
Welcome, stay with me
Be my friend, you are free
To live your life, to share your love
With the world
You can count on me, darling, I'm your friend
I'll do anything for you
From the bottom of my heart I wish you
I wish you the best, yes
(One, two, people)
You can be my guest
People, be my guest
Now you can be my guest
(Lala lalala...)
(Lala lalala...)
I'm always here for you
And you know I care for you
Just remember
I lo... lo... lo... lo... love you
(Lala lalala...)
Welcome people
(Lala lalala...)
Now you can be my guest
(Lala lalala...)
You can be my guest
(Lala lalala...)

The song's message of friendship and inclusivity is clear from the lyrics, as Gaitana emphasizes the importance of living life and sharing love with the world. She offers herself as a trustworthy friend who will do anything for those who accept her invitation to be her guest. I still don't understand why this didn't do better than it did.. The bookies pretty much guaranteed Sweden the victory by raving about it so much (no pun intended). This has morph suit men on screen, epic trumpet guyS (YES! More than one!), a dubstep bit that isn't an instrumental break but compliments the song well, a flash mob backdrop dance and an awesome hook! This has all the makings of virality usually but why not last night? Meh, either way, it exists and I'm happy :D
