Galaxie Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
t'es une pluie de météores
les fauves dansent avec toi
et le beat est sans remord
entends-tu les hurlements
entends-tu les cris qui résonnent
je suis le bleu et le noir
t'es la lumière d'hiroshima
l'amour est comme un volcan
et ton coeur y fait la loi
Galaxie's "Zulu" is a song that features extravagant lyrics and a deeply introspective meaning. The song communicates metaphorically the dynamic relationship that exists between two lovers. The opening lyrics in French, "je suis le feu et le froid" which translates to "I am the fire and the cold," conveys the idea that the two individuals are completely opposites of each other. The second line, "t'es une pluie de météores" which translates to "You're a meteor shower," describes the passionate nature of the other person. The refrain, "les fauves dansent avec toi et le beat est sans remord," meaning "the beasts dance with you and the beat is unmerciful" suggests wild and uninhibited dancing, which may be interpreted as the expression of emotions and passion.
The next lines of the song, "entends-tu les hurlements, entends-tu les cris qui résonnent," which means "Do you hear the screaming, do you hear the resonating cries," use the concept of sound to depict the high levels of intensity in the relationship. The third verse, "je suis le bleu et le noir, t'es la lumière d'hiroshima" which translates to "I am blue and black, you're the light of Hiroshima," connote the idea of equilibrium that is required in a relationship. The climax of the song is in the last verse, "l'amour est comme un volcan et ton coeur y fait la loi" which means "Love is a volcano, and your heart rules it," where the singer likens love to a catastrophic event and the lover's heart as the controlling force.
