It is legit AWESOME
months ago i played omega ruby and i LOVED IT
THE GRAPHICS (promo drawing arts)
THE CHARACTER DESIGNS (2D battle images)
THE DIAGONAL WALKING (i appreciate it so much after pain in gen 4)
THE REUSABLE TMS (such a pain before gen 5)
THE ADDED POKEMON (got a gardevoir and gallade pair early game thanks to the pokeradar, Twilight and Akatsuki (names respectively) were powerhouses with twilight calm mind psychic moonblast shadow ball, akatsuki psycho cut brick break night slash leaf blade that wouldve been impossible early game this nice in most other games)
THE MEGAS (Toro the Swampert, Sparkie the Manectric, Akatsuki and Twilight i just mentioned, Poofy the Altaria and Vanadis the Aggron the only team ive ever played (i always play good ol fashioned way wild catches) that everyone could (and yes i got all the stones) to mega evolve. It was glorious)
THE MUSIC (not as iconic as the oh trumpets but the remixes are quite nice)
THE DELTA EPISODE (lets face it free mega rayquaza is awesome i just wish mine wasnt one shotted by a stupid psycho boost deoxys)
And in my opinion the best part:
THE POKEFUNCTIONS ON THE BOTTOM SCREEN (the stuff carried over from xy are legit underrated. The map is nice and convenient to have always open if you need to keep checking, the radar helps because like xy some caught pokemon can already have heart scale moves (ex this sky attack taillow i caught temporarily 6 min into the game) and repeated pokemon (really helped find akatsuki and twilight given the low rarity of early game ralts), the pokeamie is actually pretty fun with interactive pokemon minigames and the puffs that come in really handy for friendliness (comes in handy for status effects or focus sashing) and tuning the friendship to specific levels (ex evolving twilight while also akatsuki for the kicks of simultaneous evolution), and the best part has to be the training gym area (sure its a lot of spam clicking but for free ev manipulation as early as early game is just nice, came in handy tuning my team towards specific roles (toro, akatsuki, vanadis physical while sparkie twilight poofy special all with multiple types of moves) and the ball shooting 3d moving game is legit worthy as a standalone game, but getting evo stones from simply beating levels is peak, i wouldve otherwise had to wait till after wally pre-e4 to evolve akatsuki)
It’s a great game is what im saying, if only bdsp had a bit more effort, functions, care, anything really

@Itsjustyourimagination

For starters,
Friendship
Secret bases
Level curve
Art style (admittedly subjective)
Poketch
Daycare (tho that was changed in sun/moon)
Not removing Cindy
That whole debacle with the post game/OST
Not using plat as the base for the game
Raminus park isn't really a downgrade but bring back built in transfer you money hungry sobs or hell at least have it be a one time purchase of a physical medium like Box was...

@SinisterPixel

tbh it being a remake of DP was fine but they should have gone the way of the gen 2/3 remakes and added elements from Platinum:

- Expanded Platinum Pokedex
- Improved map design (e.g. Galactic hideout and Fantina's gym)
- Instead of finding Giratina in Turnback Cave you should have been able to open a portal to the distortion world and explore it
- A few of the story beats from Platinum (sans Giratina)
- Improved Platinum teams for boss trainers

I also think they should have done a few small modifications to the maps in a few places. Especially Mt Coronet where there are a LOT of one wide spaces that do not lend themselves well to the movement options.

They remade diamond and pearl so closely that they literally carried over bugs from the original that were fixed in platinum

@charnalk5572

BDSP does in fact fix glitches from DP, like Platinum did.
The problem is that people have this misconception that Platinum fixed all of them, and it did not.

They clearly used Platinum as a reference for a lot of stuff, but stuff like Suction cup not working is actually a bug that was still in Platinum (only got fixed in HGSS).

@ChilaAuroraVT

FR/LG was overly faithful too. If pokemon got new evos they couldn't evolve, but would keep trying to.

@lilli7040

@ChilaAuroraVT there's a difference between creating a remake for the first time and a modern remake after previous successful remakes. And even then frlg had qol content, like new areas, including the new types, nature, abilities, etc. (that weren't present in the original game). So it may be one to one in terms of pokedex but definitely a big step forward in gameplay compared to bdsp

😂😊

@Skullhawk13

@@ChilaAuroraVTthere’s more mechanical changes going to FR/LG from RBGY than there were between Gen 3 and Gen 6. Held items, natures, IVs and EVs, Special became two stats, Dark and Steel were added, abilities were added, huge mechanical changes on the very foundation of moves like hyper beam can’t skip recharge anymore, Friendship is now all pokemon and has actual gameplay elements, Kanto got a massive graphical overhaul, soft-locks were nearly impossible to create now, The sevi isles, Pokemon could be shiny, HM moves could be forgotten, Pokémon can breed, and probably dozens I’m not remembering. It’s not even close to dismiss it as on par

It is the worst because it’s just a lackluster remake with wasted potential

@Mashu460

No it Pokemon Dash

@1McDonaldsMenuwithNuggets

Me when Pokemon Rumble Rush exists:

@TheDeathmail

To be fair, I feel it's because they added Legends for all the new stuff....

Like, they were the Gen 4 Remake Pair....

I feel the bigger reason was that they didn't add the quality of life updates that were in Platinum
