i think what happened is this:

40 years ago, there was a happy town called Po Town. It was so happy people waved, people were making friends, and the people there were very nice. People lived in big beautiful houses, there was a pokemon center cafe that people always went to, and people let them pet their pokemon, and there was a big beautiful mansion that people go there to have dinner and have a swim in the pool. And there it is very easy to communicate with their friends. Everything was nice.

Until Team Skull started to kill everyone and stole their pokemon! And the pool was drained, the furniture was knocked over, and the pokemon were gone! Po Town turned into a ghetto. And beautiful houses were not beautiful anymore. And the big beautiful mansion was taken over. Now their boss Guzma owns the place. And the only person alive was the guy out the gates. He was in charge of the gates. He opens and shuts them. Soon Team Skull started wreaking the mansion! They were ruining things. And the PMC was taken over and the houses were taken over!

But the player arrives and started beating them up and Po Town was taken back.

The End.

Edit: this took a long time to make and got a like thank u ☺️

The ruined Pokémon Center was an amazing bit of game design. No matter what happens, the PokéCenter in every town is the same cheery place to heal your Pokémon. They're practically a core game mechanic, completely unchanging. So when you come across the ruined PokéCenter in Po Town, see it in disrepair even inside and then find that it's completely abandoned except for a few Team Skull kids asking for money to heal your Pokémon so they can keep the lights on another day (let's not even get into the one guy who's clearly implied to be sleeping off a hangover)... it hits like a truck in a way that most games have to actually break the fourth wall to pull off.

@boianko

Po Town has a great representation of what poverty and crime would look like in the pokemon world. You even have a dude shaidly selling you overpriced one time goods.

@yapyapthedestroyer2562

Not to mention eventually those grunts in the poke center leave, with their Pokémon, the only one left is just that sleeping skull grunt and the hypno.

@gladionlover

umm... wut did i just read. i feel like ive just discovered some creepy truth. wdym implied to sleeping off a hangover?

@stripeback2024

That's a good point. This was the first time in Pokemon's 20-year history that you couldn't rely on a Pokemon Center, and no game since then has done that either.

This is why I always say Gen7 was actually amazing

Po Town real world counterpart is the Puʻuhonua sacred site where, up until the early 19th century, Hawaiians who broke a kapu (one of the ancient laws) could avoid certain death by fleeing to this place of refuge. Team Skulls are outcast people who failed Alola's traditions.

@thememehead

Thanks for the lore! I didn't know that

@TheLateLordKardok

@descend6229
