Songwriter/ producer Gary Butcher has contributed to many Café del Mar albums over the last 5 years, either under his own name, that of Luminous or collaborating with Danish dance producers, Miro. His musical career history started as a session guitarist for many artists including Robert Palmer. He went on to write and produce for Jimmy Somerville, Sonique, Definition of Sound, the Banderas and Miro.

I discovered Gary b's music way back in a quite golden period of my life in late 2012 when I lived with my wonderful aunt at her home in midtown memphis and came across this music while on a long searching spree for unique chillout/cafe del mar type stuff a couple weeks before we said our goodbyes and headed out across the country. After my mom passed in late April, my aunts home was being foreclosed and so we moved that beautiful summer in early May from tennessee to phoenix enduring a magical road trip taking 2-3 days. I happened to have his album Step into the Sunshine on my oldschool ipod and I felt sychronistically how this track and his song "Life is Beautiful' were playing at some point during the journey through new mexico under a deepest blue crystal sky. The desert clouds so low to the ground whispered messages of love though a dreamy language of inspiration and hope for a new chapter that was unfolding in our lives.. I remember how much it reminded me of something deep inside myself; something of beauty and wonder, this special and eternal connection between my aunt and I, knowing that each lifetime we would share each others presence and help each other through the power of love and trust beyond this reality.
