Rock and Roll
Gary Glitter Lyrics

Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Can you see where you call in the juke box hall
When the music played
And the world sang rounds to a pretty sound
No sorrow base
I guess they sing the blues, let it all hang out
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Little Queenie popped in my high school rock
Dancin' to the beat
With the U.S. male and a pony tail
She looked so sweet
Times have changed in the past but we won't forget
Though the age has passed they'll be rockin' yet
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and ro-o-oll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock
Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll" is a classic rock song that celebrates the spirit of the genre itself. The song opens with the repeating line "Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll", which Glitter repeats throughout the track. The lyrics tell the story of going to the "juke box hall", where the "blues swede shoes" will "scream and shout". Glitter sings of the joy of listening to rock music, and how it "sang rounds to a pretty sound" that "no sorrow base" could match.
The second verse of the song mentions "Little Queenie", who is dancing to the beat of rock music. Glitter sings of how times may have changed, but the love of rock and roll remains the same. He sings of how the age may have passed, but people will still be "rockin' yet". The lyrics celebrate the history of rock music and its enduring popularity.
Overall, the song is a celebration of the joy and energy of rock music. The catchy chorus and memorable melody make it a classic example of the genre.

The face Gary Glitter makes at 1:00 was probably exactly the same when the National Crime Agency said they needed to look at his computer.

@Lankyify
It was actually a friend of mine that busted him. He worked at PC World and Glitter literally handed his computer over as it wasnt working. My mate fixed it and saw some fucked up shit on it.
To this day he has never spoken about what he saw.

@@Lankyify woah dude thatβs pretty cool though that your friend did that (if youβre being honest)...
