I live in Lily Dale now....2020 ....my children were born here in the mid 1980's....My mother told no one when she started coming here in 1968....She had uncovered a Treasure for the rest of her family...Her and my Step Dad last owned the home at 13 Cottage Row where the National Office now resides....They played a huge part in the growth of this Community and many of the people in this film were part of that...I am now 63 ....and live here still....my parents are gone..my children moved on...but there is No Place Like Home for me.....Spirits do exist....We do go on....and we can be the best we can be the best we can be and live a fulfilled life...this is a Place sent from God and I for one as just glad I found it,.....

I was in Lily Dale with friends yesterday. Yes, I know it is off season, but the place is basically a mess. We came across at least three houses in such bad repair that is would be impossible to put them back together. Many of the houses need paint and repairs. You should see the fire trap they call a hotel: disaster. Lily Dale is a shambles. In the Spring and Summer the flowers and trees cover the wreckage and mess. We were all very shocked and couldn't wait to leave.

I think you can own a house, but not the Lily Dale property it sits on. Maybe some house owners just couldn't afford the upkeep.

I was there just a few weeks ago. It does need some repairs and a lick of paint here and there but it was very serene.

Just did a Job in Lily Dale 2 weeks ago we installed 3 big windows a lot of the houses definitely need repair but you can’t work on houses in the summer it the season starts June 1st so you could only work during the late fall early winter which is hard to die the the bad weather I don’t get it.

So the purpose fo your trip to Lily Dale was to assess the state of the houses there, windows? If that was the sole purpose of you being there, you should not have visited in the first place. There is more to Spiritualism and the energy there than the paint on the houses and window repairs. Ridiculous.

My aunt and uncle lived there years ago... I spent many summer days riding bikes and playing. The hotel was ancient then... the boathouse was fun to visit. There was even a tiny beach area to swim. My relatives were not spiritual. They owned the house, but leased the land for 99 years. I have such fun memories... I’m sad to hear it’s fallen into disrepair.

It's both beautiful environmentally and energetically with it's beautiful lake and outstanding old growth forests and there is nothing that could remotely be considered 'seedy' about it. It is a quaint village of mediums and spiritualists in a setting reminiscent of tiny Swiss village occupied by enchanting gingerbread cottages and small unique houses.

@MsAnna00 spiritualism is not a cult..trust me..we spiritualists are the very opposite of a cult. We never tell others what to think, but rather, to look within themselves for the truth, because each and every one of us has these abilities. Once you let go of all the negativity, it can be so amazing..the unconditional love and peace you feel. I spent my entire life depressed, suicidal, and unwell, and since turning to spirituality, I can't even describe the changes within myself. Truly amazing.

I have also found it to be a really welcoming place where it is easy to make friends just by talking to someone in a class or on the porch of the hotel in the evening. I now live in California so I haven't been able to visit Lily Dale in several years but given half a chance I would jump at the opportunity and if you live near there you would find a visit there to be uplifting and insightful.

That area called the "Burned Over District" is where there were many religious movements, revivals and beginnings in the late 18th to 19th centuries including the Shakers, Mormons, 7th Day Adventists etc. Is there something in the water that brought so many religions in there or was it just the beauty of the locality?

My late wife's grandmother, Lilian Harper (Lily) a spiritualist and clairvoyant was born in Liliy Dale, New York in the 1800's.
The family talked of her powers over the years, my only wish, now, is that I should have asked more questions, been more attentive! I do know that she never charged any fee for her services.

When I've visited with my women's group, 5, 6 or 7 of us, we've generally stayed in a cottage, only the 1st time in the hotel. It's a beautiful place although there are some houses that need work. Traffic is limited to coming & going, & the speed limit is very slow, so it's a safe place to walk & soak in the beautiful feeling of calmness.

I visited here before going to do a paranormal investigation at rolling hills. This is an odd place with different people! They are different but very nice. The hotel is quaint. I would suggest going just to absorb the experience.

Was there today 7-5-2012. I must say it is a interesting place. I would say there is defiantly a presence there. It's made me a little uneasy being there. not a evil presence but there was something . The mediums seemed to be real and insightful. . Some of the practices at lily dale are strange to the outsider. check it out and judge it for yourself before you go on christian rants

I was reading a novel by Wendy Corsi Staub, in the book, it has some fictional characters, and fictional mediums, and I thought Lily Dale was a fictional place, but once I finished it, it said in the very back that Lily Dale wasn't a fictious place. So here I am, just simply curious about the history of it. :) I want to go there someday.. Real or not, I don't care. It seems like a very nice place with very nice people.

My grandfather Mark met Betty in Cassadaga FL. They lived in a little house in The Dale in the summer. I love this place it has so much Holy White Light. Every so often the path to the stump in the woods is cleaned with a rush of white light that takes any Evil out. I stand in it physically and out of body to clean my thoughts and feelings. I once lay on the names on the ground at the stump i looked up and i saw this white light tunnel to Heaven. Yes with Angels and a lot of people come down the stairs from Heaven to talk to their lived ones. Yes then they walk back up the stairs to Heaven again. Yes there are psychics, spychics, mediums and they are wonderful. I have a few shared gifts so i can see who the mediums are talking to. One famous medium Pauline Kay stayed with me after she died. She went home to her family in the UK and then to Heaven. She comes down the Heaven steps to help me i am so lucky. Grace

@OCPRS that is indeed what is so unfortunate. There is so much fraud going on in this area because it's so easy to manipulate people's emotions, especially during such sensitive times in their lives. If I wasn't psychic myself, I think I would never believe a single medium in this entire universe. What I tell epople, is to look within themselves for the truth, believe in your ability to do that and you will KNOW who is being truthful to you and who is not. Love and Light ;-)

The writer also misses the mark when she mentions that there is only one place to stay in Lily Dale when in fact there are numerous bed and breakfasts and 2 hotels and not one. I don't really appreciate the tone of this video clip yet if it inspires you to do further research into Lily Dale then it serves it's purpose.

Its like people who get paid a paycheck from your taxes. Govt workers, etc. If you think about it they arent really 'paid'. No one really is. Money pretty much means nothing at the end of the day, it's all numbers. This "monetary system" is nothing more than a lie and a form of control. If you can't look around with the writing on the wall, the inflation, the people struggling - what good is money if it does nothing, serves no purpose other than to be the club of fear to beat you over the head if you dont do your due diligence and serve the populace? So you see, true mediums and psychics could be PAID for their services with food and lodging they don't need money for. The problem for me is I see these "people" living very lavish lifestyles. Are these people more human than construction workers, or immigrants working on a hot roof in the summertime, or someone freezing their ass off working on a drilling rig in the wintertime to bring petrol to you - NO! The reason people are saying its a scam is like Nichole Dunn stated, if these people had the true sight, they wouldn't need money and their needs would be well taken care of. Thats the dichotomy of this all, you see? Everyone who is supposedly 'gifted' always has their hand out, and thats always the problem.

I agree there are some who do connect with the spiritual world, but I disagree with what or who these individuals claim to contact. On this matter I am very subjective, but thats just my opinion. If you do go to Lily Dale, try to keep a record of what was said to you so that you can analyze it later. Maybe give us viewers on YouTube your persepctive on that experience? Cheers.

There are many ways to connect with the Divine there and while people go there for readings it's not necessary to enjoy Lily Dale. If you do desire a reading, it can be overwhelming to decide who to go to, so if you can witness a public reading at the inspiration stump which is offered free daily then you can see who you resonate with. I would recommend Barbara Sanson or Bonnie Wells who I have had sessions with and they both provided insight, inspiration with clarity and compassion.

That cop near the end of the video.. oh man. Speaking of "ignorant people" and then him telling people to read the bible (written by MANY men, ~60 years after Jesus died.. and full of contradictions - oh.. and that evolution is not real and so on and son on. No historians that lived during Jesus time, and in the same location, made one entry about Jesus even existing. I grew up Catholic/Christian & that rocked me to my core). The cop has a good heart, but is about as ignorant as one can be.
