1) Triple threat. Many have claimed to possess it, yet finding an artist who has the ability to sing, dance and act is both hard to come by and an even harder quality to obtain. Enter: Gavin Turek. An unlikely character, Gavin turns out to be not at all what she seems. Behind the sweet monotone of her voice, innocent eyes and cascading curls, lies a talented artist. One who is in every sense a triple threat.
The L.A. native known for her incredible voice, is also an experienced dancer, actress, and spokes person for the world renowned make up brand Rimmel London. The Czechoslovakian African beauty began singing at a young age; writing her first song at the age of six.
Gavin's shows promise to be even better then her music. After spending time learning the rich culture and traditional dances of Ghana and India, Gavin took what she learned and incorporated it into her live shows. "The more shows I do, the more I will try to leave little remnants of the places I've been."
Gavin's career has just begun and is sure to be a successful one. Gavin will be releasing her music, an album that incorporates Indie, Pop, and Electronica through newly founded Sonata Cantata Records from Los Angeles, CA which was started by former EVE 6 and Monsters Are Waiting guitarist Jon Siebels. She will release her laptop remix project of her favorite RATATAT songs and if her single "Ring it" is any indication of what lies in store for the rest of the album, her fans are sure to be satisfied. The modest Gavin Turek wrapped up our Venice beach interview by saying, " I never took myself seriously, and I don't know that I still do."

In Your Eyes
Gavin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation
Of moving paper fantasy
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Somewhere inside something
There is a rush of
Greatness, who knows what stands in front of
Our lives? I fashion my future
On films in space
Silence tells me secretly
Everything
Everything
Manchester England England
Manchester England England (eyes look your last)
Across the Atlantic Sea (arms take your last embrace)
And I'm a genius genius (and lips oh you the doors)
I believe in God (of breath, seal with)
And I believe that God (a righteous kiss)
Believes in Claude (seal with a righteous kiss)
That's me, that's me (the rest is silence)
That's me (the rest is silence)
(The rest is silence)
We starve-look
At one another
Short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation
Of moving paper fantasy
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Singing
Our space songs on a spider web sitar
Life is around you and in you
Answer for Timothy Leary, dearie
Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sun shine in
(Let the sun shine)
Let the sunshine (let the sunshine on in)
Let the sunshine in (yeah)
The sunshine in (open up your heart)
Let the sunshine (open up your heart)
Let the sunshine in (yeah, yeah)
The sunshine in (let it in)
Let the sunshine (let it in, let it in)
Let the sunshine in (let it in, yeah)
The sun shine in
Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
The lyrics to Gavin and Nox's song In Your Eyes Feat. Sinatic describe a sense of disillusionment with the state of the world around us. The first stanza portrays a society where people are disconnected from each other, with a dying nation and new told lies. However, there is a rush of greatness within us all, and the singer chooses to fashion their future on films in space, which represents hope and a brighter future. The song then transitions to a reference to Manchester, England, and the singer proclaims their belief in God and their own genius, before the song ends with a call to "let the sunshine in".
These lyrics explore themes of isolation, disillusionment, and hope. The imagery of winter coats and laboratory smells represent a world that is cold and scientific, lacking in humanity and warmth. However, the rush of greatness within us all represents hope and a desire for more in life. The reference to Manchester, England highlights the singer's personal connection to the city while also contrasting with the general sense of isolation in the rest of the song. The call to let the sunshine in represents a desire for warmth, love, and hope to enter our lives.
