After releasing several self-produced singles, she was discovered by former American Idol judge and Arthouse music publisher Kara DioGuardi and was signed to Atlantic Records.

Describing her musical style, she has said: "I write passive aggressive pop songs." Her influences include Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Adele.

Props to her for not pretending that the fake "write a song using the alphabet" comment from her label's marketing director was the inspiration of the song. So many people think that was a legit comment and not just marketing an already written song.

Agree. She seems to have a great marketing team, since they were also able to get her on Jimmy Fallon. Other songs that also blow up on TikTok don't always get this same treatment. A LinkedIn search shows that Nancy Berman works in marketing for Atlantic Records, Gayle's label. The song was already written and the TikTok was a marketing stunt. Still a good song, though.

I had a 'insert: long story' friend named Gayle. By chance today, Jan 6, was her and I's shared birthday! We liked going out late and catching up on our new good days beating out our old bad times. She seems really nice, but she should just be honest. We all know her Tiktok "start to fame" was a marketing tactic by her management team. She would come off a lot more real and relatable if she would she confront it & be honest. She does resemble a couple of actresses, yes. But since iam an artist with enough skills as an illustrator to differentiate a lot of angles in faces that resemble so much i easily see them different.

I have a belief that some people are born artists as some people are born writers. What's originality we decide only with success. But i usually see people including who are successful in career doubt their own originality and success. As for me I don't question my own capabilities because I don't expect much from my talents. I dream a lot yes, but i see reality more. More important, i believe in writing for myself before i try to fancy it to get published. Our skills and talents are for looking at the world and ourselves in our own ways and the audience become secondary to me. Well if it earns a good money, it's well worth my efforts, if it doesn't, writing to myself is well worth it too

Great video, when I worked at the mall I used to take massive dumps at the Sears there, then I discovered Nordstroms had a bathroom and I started to punish the porcelain in there soo much that they had to change the bathroom into another changing room. I was so angry that i started taking dumps in the dressing rooms, i didn't care, I got so mad at one point I was $hitting in the old navy and marshalls dressing room.
