I don't wanna hear it
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
Don't tell, tell me what you′re gonna do
(Tell me what you′re gonna do) no, no, no
You can't, can′t even spare a word of truth, no, baby
So go away (go away), I just don't wanna be bothered
Love, you taught me
What you say don′t impress me
You might have better luck
If you learn to keep your mouth shut
I don't wanna hear it
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
You said I was the only one (was the only one)
You must really, really think I′m dumb, yes you do
Don′t you, don't you think I know you by now
The things you say (things you say)
If you only knеw how it sounds
This may sound cold
But today you′re playing alone
You think that you're tough
You should learn to keep your mouth shut
I don′t wanna hear it (I don't wanna hеar it)
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it (shut your mouth, stop that lying)
I don't wanna hear it (don′t try to give me all that jazz)
I don′t wanna hear it (I don't, I don′t wanna hear it)
I don't wanna hear it (I don′t, I don't wanna hear it)
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it (save your prayer for all the rest)
I don′t wanna hear it (give your spells to those other girls)
I don′t wanna hear it (I don't wanna hear it)
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it (I don′t wanna hear it, I don't wanna hear)
I don′t wanna hear it (I don't wanna hear it, I don't wanna hear)
I don′t wanna hear it (I...)
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
I don′t wanna hear it
I don't wanna hear it
I don′t wanna hear it
The lyrics to Gayle Adams's song "I Don't Wanna Hear It" express a sense of frustration and disillusionment with a lying and manipulative partner. The repeated refrain of "I don't wanna hear it" emphasizes the singer's refusal to listen to any more false promises or empty words. The song begins by rejecting the person's attempts to convince or manipulate them, stating that they don't want to hear any more lies or false pretenses.
The second verse highlights the singer's realization that they have been deceived by their partner, who claimed to be the only one for them. The singer sees through the partner's lies and considers them to be foolish for thinking they could be fooled. The line "today you're playing alone" suggests that the partner's actions have led to their own isolation and lack of trust.
Overall, "I Don't Wanna Hear It" serves as a declaration of independence and self-protection. The singer has reached a breaking point and is determined to block out any further attempts at manipulation and false promises from their partner. It's a strong and empowering anthem about standing up for oneself and refusing to be deceived any longer.
