The lyrics to Gazette's song "Regret" express feelings of longing and reminiscing over a past relationship. The first verse talks about realizing that something that was once connected has become untangled, and how it would have been better to keep it tied together. The things that have flowed away in the current are represented as being the same color as the person the singer was with at that time. The chorus talks about the memories of the relationship, and how the singer has gathered all the words and tears of the other person. They have listened to them repeatedly and nodded as if they understood. The neon pink of the signboard that holds meaning for them will soon be erased, and the singer finally smiles at their old self.
The second verse continues to talk about the memories that have been gathered, and how they will become like, the bombs that explode repeatedly, making them cry again and again. The bridge describes the physical objects that they both shared, such as piercings, rings, and lipstick, and how the singer did the same things as their old lover, even down to the color of their hair and the tears they shed. The last verse talks about holding onto the little bit of solace that they have left, and how the singer sees the image of their old lover's fleeting feelings in their hand.
