Kyrie Eleison
Gen Rosso Lyrics

Lo spirito contrito,
Un cuore umiliato
Tu sempre accoglierai.
Kyrie eleison.
Il sangue che hai versato
Morendo tu hai dato
La vita a tutti noi.
Christe eleison.
Signore, tu non spezzi
La canna che s′incrina:
L'amore tuo ravviva
La fiamma spenta in noi.
Kyrie eleison, eleison!
The song Kyrie Eleison by Gen Rosso is a powerful Christian hymn that deals with themes of repentance, forgiveness, and God's unending love for humanity. The opening lines of the song, "Signore, non disprezzi / Lo spirito contrito," speak to the idea that God does not reject those who are truly sorry for their sins and seek redemption. The following lines, "Un cuore umiliato / Tu sempre accoglierai," reinforce the idea that humility and contrition are key to finding forgiveness in God's eyes.
The chorus of the song, "Kyrie eleison," is a Greek phrase that means "Lord, have mercy." This phrase has been used in Christian worship for centuries and serves as a reminder of God's mercy and grace. The second verse of the song, "Il sangue che hai versato / Cancella ogni peccato," references the crucifixion of Jesus and the idea that his sacrifice on the cross was enough to wash away the sins of humanity. The following line, "Morendo tu hai dato / La vita a tutti noi," further emphasizes the idea that Jesus gave his life so that all people might be saved.
