Some of his classic recordings include "School of Rock 'n Roll", "Straight Skirt", "Nervous", "Gotta Lotta That", and "Twixteen". Summers was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 1997 and The Southern Legends Entertainment & Performing Arts Hall of Fame in 2005. He still performs worldwide and celebrated his 50th anniversary as a recording artist in 2008 with the release of Reminisce Cafe.

Summers graduated from Duncanville High School in 1957 and attended Arlington State College, now known as the University of Texas at Arlington. That same year, he formed the rockabilly band The Rebels and performed on Joe Bill's Country Picnic on KRLD, where they were spotted by songwriter Jed Tarver. This led to the band being signed by newly-found Jan Records. Their first record was released on February 1, 1958, under the name of Gene Summers & His Rebels.

I also prefer the narrated stories, and sometimes I need to remind myself as to why I am making these videos. Obviously it gets a little disheartening when something that you worked hard on fails. This week I am going to take my focus off of the regular videos and just post some music ones from my archive. They may not appear to do well initially, but they all should have good retention rate moving forward as people are always seeking their favorite artists and songs. Then on Thursday I will get back to normal posting.

I'm probably going to have to change the days that I post the narrated videos. I have my own views on why the walking videos get like twice as many views as the narrated videos. Even a lot of people who comment frequently completely ignore the narrated videos, but that is because it is a lot easier to copy what everyone else is saying in the comments on a walking video 😂 For the narrated videos people have to pay attention.

Same here with my channel, views going down massivley ! But I have to admit, it's the same with me... FINALLY we're allowed a few things, so I also wanted to go shopping, eat in the beer garden etc and have been out of the house a lot!
