Some of his classic recordings include "School of Rock 'n Roll", "Straight Skirt", "Nervous", "Gotta Lotta That", and "Twixteen". Summers was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 1997 and The Southern Legends Entertainment & Performing Arts Hall of Fame in 2005. He still performs worldwide and celebrated his 50th anniversary as a recording artist in 2008 with the release of Reminisce Cafe.

Summers graduated from Duncanville High School in 1957 and attended Arlington State College, now known as the University of Texas at Arlington. That same year, he formed the rockabilly band The Rebels and performed on Joe Bill's Country Picnic on KRLD, where they were spotted by songwriter Jed Tarver. This led to the band being signed by newly-found Jan Records. Their first record was released on February 1, 1958, under the name of Gene Summers & His Rebels.

It really annoys me when people criticise this end scene in Apocalypse because they incorrectly assume that Jean has the Phoenix force here. This is Jean's natural mutation reaching Omega level blowing apocalypse out the astral plane due to her telepathy power now manifesting itself as a huge visual psyonic firebird that can inflict physical and psychological damage. It's this transcendence to her Omega level power that attracts the Phoenix Force across the universe to her in the Dark Phoenix movie. Its actually extremely comic accurate and is a massively misunderstood scene in Apocalypse because people incorrectly believe it to be a plot hole thinking how can she get the Phoenix force in Dark Phoenix if she already had it etc!

Most people who haven't read the comic think Jean Grey was weak before Phoenix force which is absolutely not true.
Also the animated series had also painted Jean Grey as a weak mutant, a damsel in distress falling into the arms of either Scott or Logan after seconds of using her powers.

well, sure most people don't know how powerful she is. the last time there was a good Xman movie, you have to go all the way back to Deadpool. We have had "mobius", Thor Love and Blunder, Eternals (ugh) and a poor Moonknight or at least , not more Moonknight. we get Shang Chi (why couldn't we have had Daredevil or Blade or more Ghost Rider movies or how about some Fantastic Four). Instead, we get "hawkey" and Kate Bishop? And a very ruined character of She Hulk? Listen, I will tell you a non secret, which the critics and many fans don't discuss. For who ask how Jean goes into Phoenix mode before Dark Phoenix movie, I remember reading Avengers vs. X-Men # 1 in which Hope Summers summons Phoenix powers when the Phoenix Force was still in space, she could do that because she was the chosen container. So I think same sht happens here...

This isn't the Phoenix force. This is Jean's telepathy mutation reaching Omega level. That is why she completely blows Apocalypse out of the astral plane. When her telepathy reaches Omega level it also manifests itself into a huge psyonic firebird which causes physical and psychological injury to others. It's this event that begins to draw the Phoenix force across the galaxy to her.

Apocalypse is an incredibly tough opponent. He hold his own against several incredibly powerful forces at the same time:

1. Magneto has Omega-level powers over magnetism (Omega-level mutant powers are powers with no known upper limit, potentially unlimited in their scope, intensity, finesse, etc.).
2. Storm has Omega-level weather control powers (although this is a version very early in her development, so she hasn't fully realized her potential -- still, she could potentially hit him with many, many gigawatts of electricity, freeze him with arctic cold, hit him with 500 mph winds, etc.).
3. Professor X is an Alpha-level telepath (Alpha-level mutants are extremely powerful, but do have known upper limits) and the most skilled telepath on Earth.
4. Cyclops is an Alpha-level mutant whose eyes form conduits to the Crimson Cosmos of Cyttorak, a realm of limitless kinetic energy (which is also the domain of Cyttorak, an extradimensional god that Doctor Strange invokes to form the Crimson Bands (as seen when he is fighting Thanos) and who empowers the unstoppable Juggernaut -- mostly out Cyttorak's unimaginably vast personal vanity). The only limit to how much kinetic energy he can blast someone with is his secondary mutation, which metabolizes available energy (food, sunlight, and even other sources like Storm's lightning, though he finds those painful) to create an energy field that protect his body so the blast doesn't, y'know, explode his head. I never understood this as it shows the Phoenix but then I remember that Jean was actually born with a small part of the Phoenix abilities and that is what she is using to kill apocalypse then she gets the full Phoenix next movie.

I also never really understood it myself before but after reading about the connection between and the PF and Jean, it's already clear to me why. Death already stated that the Phoenix and her are one and the same. That they are "two sheets from the same cloth" so when she's goes full mode with her telepathy , she can manifest a phoenix raptor. It has the same power as the PF but it's not The PF. Even Galactus itself couldn't tell the difference anymore between her and the PF and that's when she didn't have the PF at that time.

Well this isn’t the phoenix force here. Although she has a strong connection to it, this is just her telepathy reaching omega mutant levels unleashing psionic energy and forming the shape of a fiery bird because she has a connection to the phoenix force. Gawd, what have we lost, in crummy Disney and their last several movies, with WOKE shit, when we could have had THIS. The Xmen were always the funnest and best movies of Marvel with some exceptions. Most of the movies were well written and you had Wolverine or PHoenix and introduced a lot of the Xmen stables. But no, instead we get poor battles and scripts SINCE Avengers Infinity Endgame. think of the many great battles Xmen had with various other villains we haven't seen. And even the Fantastic Four, the great villains they met. But no, except for maybe 2 movies, since Endgame, most of the stuff is crap and even after Pandemic, ONLY SPIDERMAN has made great movies.

Personally I think it should have gone like this:
She should have been more upset at the sight of professor X, and then FURIOUS. Anger helps you forget fear and women are great at last ditch fights when you mess with the people they care about BECAUSE they get pissed about it. She should have been triple pissed. Unleashed the phoenix and then zoomed up to a stellar scope where Apocalypse finds himself under the scrutiny of eyes the size of galaxies. ...and THEN she snuffs him. It shouldn't be anything impressive either. Just a lil "pff!" and he's gone! 🤣😂🤣😂
