The song, "Don't Do That," by Geordie is a classic rock tune in which the singer expresses his displeasure with his partner's behavior. In the first two stanzas, the singer asks their partner what they are doing to him and what they are trying to do. The repeated phrase, "Don't do that," emphasizes his opposition to their actions. Musically, the song features repeated, driving guitar riffs and a drumbeat that embodies the '70s rock sound.
In the third stanza, the singer invites the audience to join him in Geordie land, where they can dance with their partners, drink brown ale, and enjoy each other's company. This upbeat verse stands out from the rest of the song, which otherwise focuses on the singer's frustration. The fourth and fifth stanzas repeat the first two, with increasingly intense guitar solos backing up the singer's plea.
Overall, "Don't Do That" is a straightforward rock song with catchy lyrics and driving instrumentation. The singer's frustrations with their partner's behavior are relatable, and the invitation to Geordie land provides a welcome break from the song's tension.
