My father visited my wife and me in London 30 years ago. He decided to take us to see Fidelio at Covent Garden. He bought the best seats available, which were the closest seats to the conductor, Colin Davis. The last "The everlasting Father, The Prince of peace" at 3:38 concludes the song and the message beautifully. It shows that this song is inspired throughout. Wow!!

In my naïve teens I left my denomination (self imposed exile) just to go and be part of the choir that sang this hymn in another denomination! Tells you the effect this powerful composition had on me in those early years..it still does!

I commented yesterday but had to chime in again. I'm ADDICTED to this piece. It is so profound in is majesty and delivery. Elegant as a soft cool breeze on a hot summer day under a large shady tree. I've been listening to it since X-mas eve.
