She is on record saying that her mom named her for this wonderful song..... During her recovery, when she regained her ability to speak following a totally unexpected stroke at age 20 in 2004, her first words were her name, "Aubrey Plaza" ..... Her mom was prescient - amazingly so..... a key lyric in the song by David Gates of "Bread" goes, "I never knew her, but I loved her just the same" ..... I have read hundreds of comments on various YouTube posts featuring Aubrey Plaza, and amazingly - there are millions (men and women alike) who "never knew her but love her just the same" ...... Comments such as "I adore her, I utterly adore her", "I love her so freakin much right now", "God, she is complicatingly perfect", "Every time I feel depressed I just watch Aubrey's videos and feel better", and "She is the queen of my heart", to quote just a few.... Aubrey has been described by her co-star Liz Olsen ("Ingrid Goes West") in this way, "I think that Aubrey's comedic timing and presence as a person are completely unique to her" ...... This is part of the key to Aubrey's attraction. She has a form of charisma which cannot be contrived or duplicated. Aubrey is something like a Jedi (Star Wars reference) in her ability to conjure up the "Force" in order to capture the imagination of the public. one more thing ....... coincidentally, i purchased George's rendition of "Aubrey" just yesterday on iTunes, and i cannot stop listening to it - he captured Gates' song perfectly
