After the Beatles stopped touring in 1966, George started writing more songs than could be fitted onto the albums so that by the time of the split he had built up a collection of songs, some used on his debut solo album, All Things Must Pass. The album, released in 1970, contains the two-time number one hit, "My Sweet Lord".
Harrison is also credited for creating music benefits, notably the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh. Harrison played beside Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, and Leon Russell to a crowd of 40,000 in Madison Square Garden, New York. The show raised over $240,000 benefiting the George Harrison Fund for Bangladesh relief.
Harrison went on to release several successful solo albums, and in the late 1980s collaborated with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, in a group called Traveling Wilburys. The group released two albums. Later, Harrison reunited with the other two surviving Beatles, after John Lennon's murder in 1980, to produce two final Beatles records, "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love" featuring the voice of Lennon, taken from home demos provided by Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono. The three Beatles also co-wrote a massive autobiography and television special, both titled "The Beatles Anthology."
Before his death, Harrison conceived of a Cirque du Soleil show, "Love," featuring remixes of Beatles music which were overseen by Beatles producer George Martin.
Harrison died on November 29, 2001 after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a wife and son, Olivia and Dhani Harrison. His last album, Brainwashed, was released posthumously and featured the single "Any Road".
A benefit concert in Harrison's memory was played on 29 November 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall. The star-studded event (featuring Eric Clapton and Monty Python, as well as former band mates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) was released on the DVD double-album, Concert for George.

Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord
Please take hold of my hand
That I might understand you
Won't you please
Oh, won't you?
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord
Won't you please
Oh, won't you?
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me, keep me free from birth
Now give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord
At the core of George Harrison’s song “Give Me Love” is a longing for transcendence, for connection with something greater than oneself. The opening lines of the song express this desire for peace, light, life and freedom from the burden of birth. Harrison asks for hope to help him cope with the difficult and heavy load of life, while also seeking to touch and reach out to that higher power with his heart and soul. The repetition of the word “Om” throughout the song is a nod to the Hindu and Buddhist tradition of using this word as a mantra for meditation, seeking inner peace and spiritual enlightenment.
The second verse of the song features the request for God to take hold of the singer’s hand, so he can understand his place in the world and forge a deeper connection. This plea is followed by the refrain once again, as Harrison asks for love, peace, light, life and hope once again. The overall message of the song seems to be a universal plea for connection and understanding, a desire for a sense of purpose and meaning in life that can only come from a higher power.

George was far from being perfect and went off on tangents all the time.
Parties drugs women and Krishna..
But don't ever underestimate what George meant to Krishna, look at the send off Krishna gave George at that concert dedicated to him.
Krishna praises those who praise him.
No one spread the holy name of Krishna more than George.
He made Krishna's name famous around the world.
For those who sincere but impure..
" I preserve what they have and carry what they lack."
And finally Krishna says..
" Declare it boldly, my devotee never perishes."
