After the Beatles stopped touring in 1966, George started writing more songs than could be fitted onto the albums so that by the time of the split he had built up a collection of songs, some used on his debut solo album, All Things Must Pass. The album, released in 1970, contains the two-time number one hit, "My Sweet Lord".
Harrison is also credited for creating music benefits, notably the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh. Harrison played beside Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, and Leon Russell to a crowd of 40,000 in Madison Square Garden, New York. The show raised over $240,000 benefiting the George Harrison Fund for Bangladesh relief.
Harrison went on to release several successful solo albums, and in the late 1980s collaborated with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, in a group called Traveling Wilburys. The group released two albums. Later, Harrison reunited with the other two surviving Beatles, after John Lennon's murder in 1980, to produce two final Beatles records, "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love" featuring the voice of Lennon, taken from home demos provided by Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono. The three Beatles also co-wrote a massive autobiography and television special, both titled "The Beatles Anthology."
Before his death, Harrison conceived of a Cirque du Soleil show, "Love," featuring remixes of Beatles music which were overseen by Beatles producer George Martin.
Harrison died on November 29, 2001 after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a wife and son, Olivia and Dhani Harrison. His last album, Brainwashed, was released posthumously and featured the single "Any Road".
A benefit concert in Harrison's memory was played on 29 November 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall. The star-studded event (featuring Eric Clapton and Monty Python, as well as former band mates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) was released on the DVD double-album, Concert for George.
Poor Little Girl
George Harrison Lyrics

With her head in the air
There's a poorly sick world all around you
Poor horny boy
One thing on his mind
That poor little girl
He must find you
[Chorus]
There's a whole lotta love
Shaking inside of me
And I must figure out why it's there
There's a bottomless heart
That's hooked into all of you
And it's wondering how much you care
Poor little girl
With a whole in her heart
There's a poorly sick world all around you
Poor horny boy
One thing on his mind
That poor little girl
He must find you
There's a whole lotta love
Shaking inside of me
And I must figure out why it's there
There's a bottomless heart
Hooked into all of you
And it's wondering how much you care
Poor little boy
Head in a whirl
There's a phony slick world all around you
That poor little girl
With her head in the air
That poor little boy he must find you
There's a whole lotta love
Shaking inside of me
And I must figure out why it's there
There's a bottomless heart
Hooked into all of you
And it's wondering how much you care
There's a need and desire I have
To express what's inside of me
I must figure it out while it's still there
And an endless amout of
Of a joy that you touch me with
Thought it's almost too much for me to bear
Poor litte girl
The song Poor Little Girl by George Harrison seems to be about the struggles of individuals in an unhealthy society. The lyrics describe a "poorly sick world" and individuals with "heads in the air" or "heads in a whirl". There's a focus on the plight of a "poor little girl" who has a "hole in her heart" and a "poor horny boy" who is only interested in finding her. The chorus talks about a "whole lotta love" that's shaking inside of the singer and a "bottomless heart" that's hooked into everyone around, wondering how much they care.
The lyrics seem to be a commentary on the way that societal pressures and the search for love can result in people becoming "poor" or feeling "sick". The use of the word "horny" also suggests a certain amount of sexual tension within the song. The chorus highlights the idea of figuring out why this "whole lotta love" is there and expressing what's inside before it's too late. It's a call to action for individuals to understand themselves better and connect with others authentically before it's too late.
In terms of the song's structure, it follows a simple verse-chorus format with repeated lyrics throughout. The melody is also relatively straightforward, with a focus on the vocals and guitar. Overall, Poor Little Girl is a poignant commentary on the struggles of individuals in an unhealthy world.
