His first album, released in 1990, Bad of the Heart had many underground dance hits like Bad of the Heart (#25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990), Look Into My Eyes (#4 Hot Dance Club Play, 1990) and Without You (#4 Hot Dance, 1989), all co-produced by famed New York producer Chris Barbosa who had produced Shannon's string of hits a few years earlier. In 1991, Lamond scored a hit with Brenda K. Starr on the duet No Matter What (#49 Billboard Hot 100).
His follow-up releases received press and were successful, but less successful than on his previous releases. His second album, 1992's In My Life, included a remake of the Jackson 5's I Want You Back, in addition to the single Where Does That Leave Love? (#59 Hot 100, 1992), which made an impact on sales and radio but less of an impact in the clubs or charts as previous releases. Lamond has also released a couple of salsa albums and scored a number of hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. 2001 saw the release of his highly acclaimed salsa album GL on Sony Records .
In September of 2006 Lamond returned with the release of his highly anticipated new album Oye Mi Canto, bringing a new sound to his music career. The highly anticipated album was a combination of Reggaeton, Bachata, & Salsa with seven songs produced by hot new talent G1E Productionz (G1E PRODUCTIONS) it was only a matter of time before GL made noise again. This album was also released on Sony International. He is known for his lyrical spinto tenor vocal quality not found in most tenors of today.

My favorite George Lamond Salsa song!!! Juan Gabriel made the original song but George did a GREAT job turning it into a masterpiece salsa song! Not all romantic ballad songs turned into salsa songs sound great like this! Love it and listen to it all the time ❤

I agree. Here in nyc it was a hit I remember going club bajas in Manhattan. Funny thing was prestige promotions was the same ppl that did the album. That's why they always played this song at the club lol 1999 good old days 👍👍👌👌
