You do something to me
You send chills right through me
When I look at you 'cause you're my thrill
You're my thrill
How my pulse increases
I just go to pieces
Every time I look at you I can't keep still Hm
Nothing seems to matter
Hm
Here's my heart on a silver platter
Oh where's my will
Why this strange desire
Flaming higher and higher
Every time I look at you
I can't keep still
You're my thrill
Georgie Auld's "You're My Thrill" is a love song that speaks to being overwhelmed with emotion when in the presence of someone who makes your heart race. The lyrics express how the person makes the singer feel with the lines “You send chills right through me,” and “You do something to me,” emphasizing the power that this person has over the singer. When the singer looks at them, they feel like they are unable to move, causing them to just sit and stare at them. This person ignites a passion within the singer that leaves them wanting more, which is conveyed through the lyrics, “Flaming higher and higher.”
The second verse of the song suggests that the singer's desire for this person is so strong that their rational thought and control over their emotions are overcome. They feel vulnerable, even going so far as putting their heart on a "silver platter" for this person. The chorus is repeated, citing how the person makes the singer feel, being their "thrill." The final line of the song, "You're my thrill," is repeated several times to emphasize the desire and passion that this person ignites within the singer.
