Gerald Walcan Bright, better… Read Full Bio ↴There are two artists known as Geraldo.
Gerald Walcan Bright, better known as Geraldo (10 August 1904, London, England - 4 May 1974, Vevey, Switzerland) was a British bandleader.
Bright adopted the name "Geraldo" in 1930 to become one of the most popular dance-band leaders of the 1930s with his "sweet music" and his "Gaucho Tango Orchestra". During the 1940s, he modernized his style to continue enjoying great success.
The second Geraldo is a house DJ.
His DJ career began in Braunschweig’s Hamburger Straße, day after day he stood at the 1210s of the club Atlantis.
This was the point at which his hobby became his job, or rather vocation. Innumerable appearances in Braunschweig Club and later throughout Germany followed. But it was during his ten-year long residency at the fashionable Hannover Club ZaZa that he began to produce. After a few years he met Danya Vodovoz, who had previously produced for Peppermint Jam, Native and Ministry of Sound. The two joined forces as the formation Nouvelle.
As Nouvelle they released on Stereo Cool (Spain) and Cheese Records (Germany).
His biggest hit turned out to be their cover of Billy Ocean’s classic “Caribbean Queen”, with a remix contributed by the successful producer Jerry Ropero. “Caribbean Queen” became a permanent fixture on the dance floors. Geraldo has constantly developed his DJ sets over the years and because of this he is amongst the few DJs capable of mixing the different house styles and constantly captivating his audience with something new. Little wonder, then, that he is always fully booked.
In addition to his numerous DJ appearances, Geraldo founded the label deepah recordings in Autumn 2006. After just a few releases it became an international name in the house scene. At the beginning of 2007 he went a step further with the sub label deepah electro, so he is now the man behind two small but very sweet labels.

Two Sleepy People
Geraldo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Holding hands and yawning,
Look how late it gets.
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light,
And too much in love to say goodnight.
Here we are, in a cozy chair;
Pickin' on a wishbone from the frigidaire.
And too much in love to break away.
Do you remember the nights we used to linger in the hall?
Your father didn't like me at all.
Do you remember the reason why we married in the fall?
To rent this little nest and get a bit of rest.
Well, here we are just about the same,
Foggy little fella, drowsy little dame.
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light,
And too much in love to say goodnight.
The lyrics of Geraldo & His Orchestra's song Two Sleepy People tells the story of a couple who are in love, perhaps a married couple, who are experiencing a moment of intimacy, vulnerability and sleepiness. The opening verse indicates that they have run out of cigarettes, thus setting a relaxed and somewhat vulnerable mood. The couple are holding hands and yawning, and time seems to be passing very quickly. They are two sleepy people by dawn's early light, and despite the late hour, they are still very much in love and not ready to say goodnight.
The second verse creates a setting of coziness, as the couple is comfortably seated and picking on a wishbone from the frigidaire. They are two sleepy people with nothing to say, but still so in love that they cannot seem to break away from each other. The next lines hint at their past relationship and why they got married. They had married in the fall to rent a little nest and get some rest, perhaps suggesting that their love had something to do with it as well. The final verse returns to the present moment, with the couple being a little bit older and a little bit foggier, but still very much in love and not ready to say goodnight.
