Good historical information. Somewhat entertaining as well. Sadly we need more people like Martin Luther these days as the protestant church has completely left Bible teaching in order not to offend and to attract a young unchurched audience. I see most churches don't follow the Bible anymore. They accept homosexuality and other things the Bible specifically speaks against. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Please do your research darling, the bible doesn't actually condemn homosexuality, that's a cultural bias, from misguided people who falsely interpreted the words of the Lord. They took a scripture from the bible, mistranslated it, and used it out of context. Do as Luther did, and don't let some third-party person sway the words of God. Homosexuality is not a sin.

Martin Luther is a great historical character that every Christian should know about.
I'm Assyrian and my church won't teach us about him, but I just knew about him recently and I am fascinated by his method and abilities as a man.

Jesus leads people. I saw a miraculous answer when I prayed where to attend church. I was led to be Catholic, which has changed drastically since the middle ages, and the era of supersititous magical thinking and pilgrimmages to relics. Blessings. @kiran Different denominations will gather scholars of their church to translate the existing ancient texts. Plus, the common language is always changing over time. The old language seen in the King James is a good example of using outdated English words. The good thing is that the church safeguards ancient texts of the Bible, in the original languages, that can be used for a modern interpretation. I believe the NABRE is best, because it was translated by a large group of scholars, with extreme standards for fidelity to the original texts.

I'm having a hard time. Catholicism or Protestant. How do I know which one? I'm thinking protestant, I have been Catholic since a child. When I use my brain I learn more towards protestant, but its scary at the same time since eternity is a long time to be wrong.

You can even be NEITHER one too and STILL be christian. Even as a critic of various Protestantism, and bigger critic of my former roman-catholicism, I appreciate any good either side still has done besides their many many years of diabolical or cruel total intolerance. Those reformers like luther indeed are imperfect, but heroes of true freedom and faith. Catholics like Simón Bolívar, real captain America in 1800s who fought for a free united states of Latin America, should still be highly recognized despite his corrupt church. You'll find GOOD people in either faith. If you really had to pick one or the other, I'd recommend Protestantism only because it is a faith that truly stood up for people's freedom to believe in god more willingly waaaaaaay before the catholics did.

Please realize, in the middle ages, 600 years ago, there was a lot of magical thinking, and superstition with the majority of people in the society; this was a different era of the Church. Martin Luther knew better, because of his extensive studies, as a moral theologian and being a professor, which was a totally different situation from the common person, when they did not have access to printed Bible texts. We cannot judge any church today based on the way things were in the middle ages.
