1. GESS was a noisepunk band from Kyushu, Japan. Similar to the Swankys (or Gai), Confuse and Sieg Heil -that's to say heavily inspired by Disorder, Chaos UK and most importantly Chaotic Dischord. They would later change their name to Lydia-Cat's
2. GESS is an r&b/pop singer-songwriter-producer who’s being noticed for his ability to “transport his listeners to the stars” with his melodies and “out of this world” production style. His modern r&b sound has been seen on VH1 and caught the attention of many over the last year - including The Grammys, Italian Vogue, Billboard, Paper Magazine, Gaytimes, Flaunt Magazine and more throughout France and the UK.

The first stanza sets the tone by indicating that the singer feels nervous around this person and is drinking alcohol to help overcome their nervousness. The singer is curious about this person and, when they begin to move closer, the singer starts to lose their composure and finds themselves floating in the clouds. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Will you take me higher than I've ever been" which could be interpreted as the singer asking this person to elevate their life in some way or simply to take them on a thrilling adventure.
