It's A Catalogue
Get Well Soon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Towels and trunks, a parasol,
A spade and knives, Costa del Sol
That French, just not flour,
Our senses back
They are quite important
Ah-Ah-Ah Bye

Tickets some years for Annie Hall
We could have loved to relive it all
A toothbrush and combs
Seem worst to keep
But all so precious
Ah-Ah-Ah Bye

Where do we miss of our glory?
Why do we miss of our world?
Where do we miss of the story?
We secretly wish to be doomed

Tears of an angel's are tiny bells
Technical shoes from Razor to toaster
Postcards from tours
Their own one's fade
It's from Bologna
Ah-Ah-Ah Bye

Where do we miss of our glory?
Why do we miss of the world?
Where do we miss of the story?
We secretly wish to be doomed

We'll on last leave, our love
It's a specious leave, our love
And be ugly, our love

Sincerely yours, my love
My love

Overall Meaning

The first lines of the song "Towels and trunks, a parasol, A spade and knives, Costa del Sol, That French, just not flour" describe a collection of items that are typically associated with a sunny vacation or beach trip, with the mention of Costa del Sol hinting at the location. The following lines "Our senses back, They are quite important, Ah-Ah-Ah Bye" suggest that being in this environment has revived the singer's senses or made them appreciate the importance of certain things.

The second verse mentions a ticket to see the movie Annie Hall, which can be interpreted as a nostalgic reference to a past love or experience. The singer then lists a toothbrush and combs as items that may seem insignificant but are actually important to them. The chorus repeats the questions "Where do we miss of our glory? Why do we miss of our world? Where do we miss of the story?" which could imply a sense of loss, longing or nostalgia.

The third verse mentions "Tears of an angel's are tiny bells", which is a metaphorical reference to something fragile or precious. The following lines list "Technical shoes from Razor to toaster, Postcards from tours", suggesting either an appreciation for mechanical or technological items, or a love for travel and collecting mementos. The line "It's from Bologna" seems to refer to a specific postcard or souvenir, and the chorus repeats once again.

Overall, the lyrics of "It's a Catalogue" suggest a bittersweet nostalgia or longing for past experiences, possessions or relationships, and the items mentioned create a vivid image of a specific type of vacation, love story or collection of memorabilia. The repetitiveness of the questions in the chorus and the use of metaphors and specific details create a dream-like or abstract quality to the lyrics.

The baseline to this tune is superb.

@Barnabasksjs

Geiles Lied 10/10
