He Is
Ghost B.C Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Been ostracized for 12 years
I'm used to being alone
Spent everything I had
And now it's gone
I'm used to being put down
My issues tell it all
My only hope is anchored
In this fall

If I could just touch the hem of His garment
I know I'd be made whole
If I could just press my way through this madness
His love would heal my soul
If only one touch

So many people calling
How could He ever know
That just a brush of Him
Would stop the flow
If He knew would He rebuke me
Or shame me to the crowd
Well I'm desperate 'cause it's never or it's now

If I could just touch the hem of His garment
I know I'd be made whole
If I could just press my way through this madness
His love would heal my soul.

And then suddenly He turned around
He said somebody has unleashed my power
Well, frightened and embarrassed I bowed
You see I told Him of my troubles
And how

I had to touch the Hem of His garment
And I know I've been made whole
And how I had pressed my way through this madness
And His love has healed my soul.

Then with one word He touched the hem of my garment
And you know I've been made whole
And somehow He pressed His way through my madness
And His love has healed my soul.

I tell you He Touched me.
He reached way down and touched me
When no one else would touch me

Jesus shol' 'nough (sure enough) He touched me
And I know I've been made whole

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Ghost B.C.'s song He Is speak on feeling ostracized and alone, having lost everything that the individual once had. They speak of being used to being put down and how their issues tell their story. The only hope they have left is anchored in their upcoming fall. The lyrics go on to speak of the healing power that they believe they will find if they were to just touch the hem of Jesus's garment. They believe that if only one touch is made, then Jesus's love will heal their soul. They express how they are desperate for this healing and that it must happen before their upcoming fall. In the bridge, yet again, they speak of how they know that they will be made whole and how Jesus's love will heal their soul. The lyrics end with the powerful statement that Jesus sure enough touched them and healed their soul when no one else would touch them.

The song He Is has a deep religious meaning behind it, as it is discussing the power of Jesus's love to heal the soul. The lyrics emotionally speak of someone who is desperately seeking that love to make them whole once more. Ghost B.C. is known for their dark and ominous music, and this song is no different. However, it is different in that they seem to set aside their typical dark themes to showcase something more uplifting and hopeful. The song takes a bit of a religious spin that many of their other songs do not have. The lyrics also showcase how this individual believes that they will find the healing that they need, but they also express doubt about whether or not Jesus would shame them to the crowd for their feelings.

That depends on your interpretation.
Is satan lucifer? Why? Sammael was an angel once so why fall?
One interpretation is that he dared to have free will.
The church wont teach you that though.
Take from this what you will but the concept of true evil doesn't really exist. Neither does 'satan'.
Not how hes depicted anyway.

Ive heard that satan was actually a title. Hence why lucifer is called it.
True or not depends upon what dogma you use.
The scripture of the babble will have you believe satan is totally evil and so is lucifer but is that really the truth.
The thing is there are always two sides and the truth is usually in the middle.

Yake this as you will. You will never convince true believers anyway as you cant convince faith with logic and facts.

Lyrics for worshippers:
We're standing here by the abyss and the world is in flames
Two star-crossed lovers reaching out to the beast with many names
He is
He's the shining and the light without whom I cannot see
And he is
Insurrection, he is spite, he's the force that made me be
He is
Nostro dis pater, nostr' alma mater
He is
We're hiding here inside a dream and all our doubts are now destroyed
The guidance of the morning stars will lead the way into the void
He is
He's the shining and the light without whom I cannot see
And he is
Insurrection, he is spite, he's the force that made me be
He is
Nostro dis pater, nostr' alma mater
He is
He is
He's the shining and the light without whom I cannot see
And he is
Insurrection, he is spite, he's the force that made me be
He is
He's the shining and the light without whom I cannot see
And he is
The disobedience that holds us together
He is
Nostro dis pater, nostr' alma mater
And we are falling over the precipice

“Is this a wet t-shirt contest or a baptism?” Tobias: “yes.”

Wet choir robe contest 😈

@Musical_Pigeon

If I remember correctly, before I stopped going to church, my church asked people signed up to be baptized to wear dark clothes. I worked in the nursery so on baptism nights I never saw what was going on, I just read kids books and watched Veggie Tales.

So my dad works for a conservative Christian radio station, they laid off an employee but before his last day he queued this song to play right after Sunday services. No one at the church noticed until they got a bunch of calls from some very terrified listeners. I was told it was absolute chaos at the station 😂 😂😂
