Where the Century Is
Ghost Ghost Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

This is where I place my butt
In between her sixty flowers
If I'm pooping through on your garden
It's not that I'm some kind of creeper

It's just that you're the one I need to see

This is where I place my eyes
In between her lovely landscape
If I'm veering off the winter course
It's not that I'm some kind of monster

It's just that you're the one I need to be

This is where I place my judo
In between the years of kicking
If I come across as ass-violent
It's not that I'm some kind of winner
It's not that I'm some kind of bread-winner

It's just that you're the one that needs to end

This is where the queen's free

From the caca-doodee-poopoo
(I only tell you where I want the queen to be free)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Ghost Ghost's song "Where the Century Is" seem to explore themes of attraction, connection, and the desire to be with someone specific. The opening lines, "This is where I place my butt, in between her sixty flowers," may be metaphorical, representing the singer positioning themselves between numerous aspects of the person they are interested in. The mention of "pooping through on your garden" could refer to the singer potentially intruding or interfering in the person's life, but they emphasize that it is not their intention to be a creeper.

The following verses continue with similar imagery, using phrases like "placing my eyes" and "placing my judo" in between different elements of the person's characteristics or actions. These actions can be interpreted as a metaphorical way of expressing the singer's deep interest and connection with this individual. Despite the potentially intense or unconventional desires expressed, the lyrics clarify that it is not because the singer is a monster or a winner seeking destruction or dominance. Rather, they emphasize that it is because the person they are addressing is the one they truly need to be with.

In the final lines, the lyrics take a more humorous turn with the mention of "the queen's free" from bodily functions like "caca-doodee-poopoo." This line adds a playful element, suggesting that the singer finds even the most mundane aspects of the person they desire to be endearing. It is worth noting the parenthetical remark that states, "I only tell you where I want the queen to be free," possibly suggesting that the singer is expressing their desire for the person's freedom or comfort.

Overall, "Where the Century Is" offers a quirky and lighthearted approach to exploring attraction and the strong desire to be connected with a particular individual, with metaphoric language and playful references to bodily functions.

When I was in the USA in 2015 . We went to a number of ghost towns to take some awesome photos. We got alot of great photos

Saw some ghosts . Some which were a little scary.
Some very nice.

Best one was at Bodie in California. We got talking to some other tourists there and enjoying ourselfs. Standing around taking photos and this guy walked out a ruin of a house . We were surprised he could get in there the place was a absolute wreck.
He looked up right at us and sort of waved at us. He's a intelligent haunting. We've found out a number of people have seen him. He's always really nice to visitors. And usually waves hello. The place we saw him was both a home and a shop to him and his family. Theire is some debate to his name. Though. Pity I'd like to know who he was.
He has no visible scars or marks. I don't think he was murdered. And he's def. Not a threat to anyone.
Never have and never will take anything from ghost towns. They're not yours. They belonged to others who you didn't get permission to take their things from .

Not willing to risk the trouble.
I only take photos. They don't seem to mind that.

@@debbiepate3755 ... You paid for it. That's different you didn't steal it. The ghosts only have problems with theives . You have a connection feeling to this. Maybe it belonged to you in another life or belonged to someone in your family generations back. There is a chance it was a long term connection to you. That's why you feel a strong bond with it.
I have a rocking horse bought at a antiques auction when I was 20. I was instantly drawn to it. I thought it was only because I have horses.
Then when visiting me my now late grandmother came over. Stopped dead in her tracks and tears ran down her face. She was a stoic strong woman I'd never seen cry. Not even when my grandpa died after years of suffering cancer.
I went over to her as she went to the rocking horse leaning down she was looking all over it. And she found something on its underside.
She said it's him I knew it.
After a long digussion I found out it was a rocking horse he long dead grandfather had made for all the grandkids to enjoy. The kids called him Zip. He's origional and in great condition. He's 110 this year. And he's still being loved on. I think now I was ment to go to the auction that day. I wasn't going to go because I was really tired having worked double shifts.
But boy am I so glad I did. I'm sure my distant relation I never knew is glad I have the rocking horse he made for his grand kids all those years ago
My grand ma was looking for his first name (her grandpa's not Zips) that he carefully carved on Zips belly when he'd been made. So my great great grandpa name Edward Charles Thorne is clearly written on Zips belly.
Funny thing too was when I bought him . I got a feeling he'd been given a Z name I was calling him Zorro. But he's now back being called Zip. And I think he likes being back with family.
And he can rock himself.

@@lorimiller4301 I doubt that Norma has ever had any dealings with ghosts/sprites. I've had many. Doesn't make me any kind of 'expert' by any means but I'm opened minded to trying to find answers.
There are many times a loved one that has passed on or what have you has helped their loved one (s) and that is a fact or have been warned by a sprite they don't know.
I'm a Vet who went to a young soldier's funeral. I took a picture of his grieving mother sitting by his coffen as he lay dressed in his Army uniform. I only made one copy of that picture and gave it to the mom.
In the picture you could see her son dressed in his Army uniform with his arm around his mom and you could see through him as he tried to comfort his mother.
She has that picture blown up in a frame over her fireplace. She thanked me over & over for the picture and stated she did feel comforted at that moment but didn't understand why at the time. I think it was a gift from God telling that mom that her son is going home and will be taken care of. I believe they will meet again when her time comes.
I think if you were a nice person then you could be a nice person as a ghost/sprite, maybe if you were a not to nice person you may be a nasty sprite or you may be trapped in hell who knows.
I hope we can get the answers when we too shall pass over. Our bodies wear out and our souls leave the then useless bodies, where it goes from there who can really know.
I believe in God and that's just my belief and I think we stand before Jesus and I want to be whever He wants me to be. Again that's just my belief. Maybe we will get the answers we're looking for then.
I know that when I was in the Army in CA with my boyfriend in the middle of a bridge one night and we were on a male person juat appreared with it's hands up, lite of a foggy whiteish light. I stopped the car and we rolled down the windows and heard crys for help.
Looking over the side of the bridge we saw a car turned over ... We boyfriend went down to them I had to go call for help, we had no cells phones then.
The 4 children were ok, just had glass embedded in them, the mother was hurt but made it, someone had cut them off and they went over the side. The mother's husband had just died a short time before. We described how the sprite that stopped us looked like and the women stated that's how her husband was dressed.
We would have never know they were there if that sprite probably of her husband haddn't stopped us.
Can't sprites come back and helpped loved ones I sure believe they can.

I work in an old 7 floor building in downtown Los Angeles. I'm told the building was a hospital prior to 1959. I was working alone one Saturday when I heard a little girl's voice calling out for her mommy. On Monday, I commentated to my secretary that something weird happened on Saturday. She immediately straightened up and her eyes widened as she exclaimed, "You heard the little girl calling for her mommy!?" I don't work Saturdays no more.

Many years ago my Aunt and Uncle were tenants in a very old pub in Norfolk, in the UK. I used to go there for a week every year and loved everything about it until I had to go to bed. It had been an Inn for a couple of centuries but my Aunt and Uncle rarely took in paying guests at the time. Consequently my bedroom was along a long, long corridor on the top floor and the only occupied bedroom was mine. As the rest of the family slept on the first floor. I used to sleep with my light on all the time but was still frightened as every night there would be footsteps that walked the length of the corridor and would stop at an empty room a few rooms away from me. It happened every night to my horror. My Aunt, Uncle and Cousin had never heard anything so they put it down to the fantasies of a young girl. Over time, I got used to it as much as possible as it never came outside my room and always stopped outside the same room every night. Having said that, I never opened my door all night. Unfortunately, it was demolished years ago. A great shame as it had lots of history and was a proper village pub with ancient flagstones and the permanent smell of spilt beer even in the early morning.

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Been to many of these places... walked the now empty spaces... sat in silence to take in the beauty and pay reverence to all who have gone before. Their testimony of hard lives lived... pressed into the environment to leave us their stories. I am inspired and strengthened by lessons learned.

In 1979 I was a student at UT Knoxville. My biology Prof let us substitute a hike up trillium gap to cling man's dome on Mount leconte for a final.... I was happy to do it. Part way up I stopped to fix my shoe and got behind. That left me hurrying to catch up. I started to see copper pipes on my right and smell wood smoke. A path opened to my right and I smelled cooking. Curious, I followed the path a short distance. At a clearing there was a small village and a man in homespun approached me. He told me this was the village of trillium gap where all residents had died from the flu epidemic in 1914. He mentioned the last two had been found dead with a set table and stew on the stove having buried the rest. He showed me a cabin with a set table and stew cooking then walked away. I was a little unsettled and headed back to the main path and caught up near the dome. I told friends about the village and said we could stop on the way down. On the way down there were no copper pipes, path, or woodsmoke. There was only a cemetery at the place I was sure the village should be. My friends thought I was kidding them. To this day I can't explain it. I can see the man in my mind. Young, good looking, helpful.

wow! you slipped into another dimension.

I’ve been to Bodie several times because every year I camp in Bridgeport off of highway 395. This last visit was during the summer and that day was really hot and I wandered off by myself to explore. I was looking through some old iron bars of the old jail house and I really couldn’t see anything at all because it was very dark in there. Out of nowhere a cold gust of air hit me in the face, it was almost like an air conditioner was turned on full blast but of course there wasn’t any air conditioning. That was definitely my cue to leave..lol

@WestShoreMan

Ive seen a lot of weird stuff in my 60 years but one of the strangest was on Highway 395 about 30 miles south of Lone Pine, Ca. I had pulled over off the Highway to relieve both myself and my Labrador around noon and when I got back in the car and sat down, there was a person in the middle of the road maybe 15 feet away from us and was walking north and just disappeared like walking into another dimension. Ill never forget that.
