Since forming in 2007, the Metro-Detroit based band comprised of Dave Holowchak (vocals), Paul Delmotte (guitar), Steve Leemgraven (guitar), Terry Freers (Bass) and Kenny Leemgraven (drums), has worked tirelessly to develop and promote the idea that impacting many fans starts by giving, one fan, music so infectious that it has to be shared with others. “Our sound and songs are meant to connect with the audience on a deeper level,” states Holowchak, “but we also understand that there is a fine line between creating art-for-art’s sake and coming up with songs and material that have commercial appeal.” Ghosts of August’s massive hooks, crushing instrumentation, creative introspection and evocative lyrics are a perfect balance between art and appeal.
Ghosts of August’s debut single “Disease,” is set to impact active rock radio on August 16th and will be supported by an aggressive touring schedule. The single will be available for streaming and purchase on July 19th and will be accompanied by a limited edition pre-album EP. The complete self-titled freshman album will be available later in the year and was engineered, produced and mixed by Martin Bak at SLR Studios in Toronto, Canada.

The lyrics of Ghosts of August's "Disease" tell the story of a man who realizes his partner is like a disease, slowly poisoning him with their lies and deception. The opening lines describe how quickly he became aware of the toxicity of the relationship by simply looking at his partner. He had never questioned what they said because he believed them to be perfect, but now he sees the truth. He feels abused and alone, unsure of who his partner is with and when they will return. As he hears their name in every conversation, he realizes that their reputation is not what he thought it was.
The chorus repeats that his partner is like a disease that follows him everywhere, and that poison (in this case, his partner) never seems to stay away. He is sick of giving them second chances and tired of the lies they have told. The bridge describes how he has heard this all before and yet finds himself crawling back to his partner, despite the pain they cause him.
Overall, the song is a cautionary tale about how easy it is to be blinded by love and how important it is to question what we are told and to recognize when a relationship becomes toxic.

I saw these guys live a few years ago when they played at 'Simons After Dark' in AP. They put on a bad ass show. Its good to see they're still doing well
