El videoclip de ese tema, que lo muestra dentro de una piscina y sosteniendo un melón con vino, sumó cientos de miles de reproducciones en poco tiempo y lo convirtió, para muchos, en sinónimo del circuito chileno de trap. “Con ‘Siempre triste’ me sentí personaje de internet. No me gustaba estar en el foco ni tener esta etiqueta del príncipe del trap (…) para mí, el trap no es música. O sea, el sonido en sí es música mala, cochina, digital, poco docta, pero se te queda pegada y te cuesta salir de la diversión que entrega. Como la droga”, dijo más tarde al diario La Tercera.
El mixtape SSR (2017) y el EP Vortex (2017) fueron sus primeras publicaciones formales, pero Gianluca pertenece a una generación que se mueve a través de otras coordenadas: con videos y singles que circulan y resuenan a través de plataformas digitales, más bien lejos de los medios tradicionales, y con presentaciones en pequeños locales y fiestas subterráneas.
G Love (2018) continuó esas lógicas, añadiendo ciertos toques experimentales y hasta guitarras aportadas por Franco Perucca (El Cómodo Silencio de los que Hablan Poco). “Mezcla en su mayoría historias de amor/desamor y desencanto, con ritmos basados en experimentación entre trap, r&b y pop”, explicó Gianluca sobre ese registro, editado al mismo tiempo que se esparcía su trabajo como productor y sus colaboraciones con nombres diversos, desde Princesa Alba a Gepe, con una improvisación para el disco Folclor imaginario (2018).

The lyrics of Gianluca's song Flotando, speak about his intense desire for the object of his affection. He praises her beauty and declares that he doesn't need anything except to be with her and smoke. He wants to dissolve himself in her, be enveloped by her, and can't help but think of her seriously.
