+nuwavegurl The lyrics in this recording contain little Portuguese, actually. Most of the time, they speak and sing words that sound like African, Indian and native Brazilian words, but that don't have a specific meaning. What Jorge Ben sings in Portuguese is just "It was the most beautiful love story I've ever heard, and now I'm gonna tell it: the love between Prince Shah Jahan and Princess Mumtaz Mahal". Then we have the chorus: "de, de, de de re de de, de, de de re de de, de, de de re de de deeee" :)

Nos anos 70 a minha colega Etelvina, me emprestou esse LP, fiquei por um mês com ele. Quando devolvi, fui até a Grandes Galerias, hoje Galeria do Rock e lá encomendei um a um logista, que levou dois meses até chegar o LP. No começo dos anos 2000 quando me desfiz de mais de 400 discos (LP´s e compactos) fiquei com um único disco que é este LP. De vez em quando ouço músicas desse disco aqui no You Tube. Para mim um dos melhores da MPB. Espero e sugiro que o Gil e Jorge façam uma turnê como fez Gil e Caetano. Fica aqui a sugestão.
