Awareness And The Great Integrity
Ginger Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Every tear a tale to tell
Finding heaven with a fire underneath my feet
From my days in Hell
Experience from existence
With new responses every day
Who makes the choices
Anywhere the cold wind blows
I will fly along like a leaf
Anywhere the cold wind blows
It could leave me here
It could take me there
But no-one knows the way it goes
In this world in need of distraction
I’m just learning how to be
A loving God would not bribe with the afterlife
And he would not judge me
He’d give me freedom just to be myself
In every moment of every day
And in awareness I will fear no death
And accept his way
Anywhere the cold wind blows
I will fly along like a leaf
Anywhere the cold wind blows
It could leave me here
It could take me there
But no-one knows the way it goes
Anywhere the cold wind blows
I will fly along like a leaf
Anywhere the cold wind blows
It could leave me here
It could take me there
But no-one knows the way it goes
The lyrics to Ginger's "Awareness And The Great Integrity" speak to a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. The opening lines, "Come a long way from the distance, Every tear a tale to tell" indicate that the singer has gone through a lot and has been shaped by their experiences. However, they've also found solace in the form of "heaven with a fire underneath my feet, From my days in Hell." It seems as though the singer has found a sense of purpose from their struggles and has moved on to better things.
The song speaks to the importance of making choices that align with one's values and beliefs. The line "Who makes the choices, Means far more than any choices made" suggests that it's not just the decision itself, but the process of making that decision that is important. They reflect on the fact that life is unpredictable and nobody knows what the future holds, but they're going to keep moving forward and taking risks. The sentiment "Anywhere the cold wind blows, It could leave me here, It could take me there, But no one knows the way it goes" speaks to the uncertainty of life, but also the resilience and perseverance that comes with navigating it.
The final stanza talks about accepting oneself and being at peace with the world. The singer rejects the notion that a loving God would "bribe with the afterlife" or "judge me." Instead, they should be given "freedom just to be myself in every moment of every day." The last two lines of the final stanza, "And in awareness I will fear no death and accept his way," are a powerful affirmation of acceptance and trust. It's an acknowledgement that despite everything, the singer is at peace with themselves and the world.
