From Hanover he moved to St. James where hie attended school and ultimately growing into a mild mannered young man. While in St. James Ginjah realized that „Music is mi life“, and in 1994 he moved to Central Village, Spanish Town where he had his first Studio-Session at the age of seventeen! This Studio was no others than the illustrious King Jammy´s, home to many giants in the music business. Although Ginjah was ready for the world, having now been exposed to critics of an acclaimed studio such as Jammy´s the world has not yet become aware of his musical talents, so he made the best of his time while in Central Village helping to organize a Young People Talent Search for his home community. He not only saw local talent but showcased his own which gave him valuable experience which he would use later on. In 1999 he cought the ear of Beres Hammond who instantly became convinced of the potential of this young man. He was immediatly invited by Beres Hammond to his Harmony House Label. In 2000 Beres label opened his door to Ginjah where he began his early recordings.
No sooner than 2001 he was on tour with Beres Hammond on his Caribbean Tour. That year Ginjah opened several shows streching across the major caribbean cities leaving behind a trail of satisfied patrons wanting for more. Ginjah went on touring with Beres throughout the world, places including Europe, Canada, USA & Japan. Over the period of 4 years, he has performed at allmost every major Reggae-Event across the world except Africa. At 2004 he performed at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica immediately followed by Pop Icon Lionel Richie and gave a good account to himself to the surprise of everybody there.

Oh well Rasta,
“Jah Light” by Ginjah serves as a soulful declaration of faith and spiritual awakening within the Rastafari belief system. The opening lines set a melodramatic tone by invoking Jah (a reference to God) and calling for mercy. This introduction not only establishes the song’s spiritual core but also highlights the struggles of life that the artist faces. The repetition of the plea for mercy indicates a deep connection to a higher power, suggesting a constant need for guidance and protection as one navigates the intricacies of existence, particularly within a world rife with challenges.
The chorus introduces the concept of “Jah Light,” which symbolizes hope, clarity, and divine enlightenment that permeates Ginjah's life. The imagery presented—comparing the enlightenment to sunlight touching a sanctified place like Mt. Zion—evokes a sense of purity and divine presence. The mention of counting on "sprite" may suggest a contrast between fleeting pleasures or distractions and the enduring strength that comes from spiritual enlightenment. Here, Ginjah emphasizes the absence of darkness within himself, indicating that true spiritual illumination dispels negativity, fear, and despair that may otherwise cloud one's path.
In the first verse, Ginjah emphasizes a divine light that enables him to rise above difficult circumstances. He acknowledges the challenges represented by “stormy clouds,” a metaphor for trials and tribulations that come and go. The acknowledgment that Jah's word is like a guiding lamp signifies reliance on spiritual wisdom to navigate life’s complexities. Ginjah's struggle with darkness in the music industry specifically points to the moral and ethical dilemmas often encountered within it. His plea for Jah to shine light on him reflects a deeper yearning for clarity and truth amidst a landscape perceived as filled with deceit and obstacles.
The second verse invokes solidarity and shared strength among his listeners and fellow travelers on a spiritual journey. Ginjah shares that despite the schemes to bring him down, he channels his faith into resilience by seeing through deceptions. The description of others appearing strong while he recognizes their weaknesses underscores an inner strength derived from his spirituality. He illustrates a connection between his faith and the sublime beauty of nature, as likened to the "Blue Mountain Peak," symbolizing a peak experience of spiritual elevation. By repeating the uplifting chorus throughout the song, Ginjah reinforces the message that through unwavering faith, one can always reaffirm their lighting path, finding solace and divine guidance in Jah’s presence.
