From Hanover he moved to St. James where hie attended school and ultimately growing into a mild mannered young man. While in St. James Ginjah realized that „Music is mi life“, and in 1994 he moved to Central Village, Spanish Town where he had his first Studio-Session at the age of seventeen! This Studio was no others than the illustrious King Jammy´s, home to many giants in the music business. Although Ginjah was ready for the world, having now been exposed to critics of an acclaimed studio such as Jammy´s the world has not yet become aware of his musical talents, so he made the best of his time while in Central Village helping to organize a Young People Talent Search for his home community. He not only saw local talent but showcased his own which gave him valuable experience which he would use later on. In 1999 he cought the ear of Beres Hammond who instantly became convinced of the potential of this young man. He was immediatly invited by Beres Hammond to his Harmony House Label. In 2000 Beres label opened his door to Ginjah where he began his early recordings.
No sooner than 2001 he was on tour with Beres Hammond on his Caribbean Tour. That year Ginjah opened several shows streching across the major caribbean cities leaving behind a trail of satisfied patrons wanting for more. Ginjah went on touring with Beres throughout the world, places including Europe, Canada, USA & Japan. Over the period of 4 years, he has performed at allmost every major Reggae-Event across the world except Africa. At 2004 he performed at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica immediately followed by Pop Icon Lionel Richie and gave a good account to himself to the surprise of everybody there.
Show Love

Ginjah's song "Show Love" opens with a repetitive and catchy chorus that emphasizes themes of longing and anticipation in a romantic relationship. This initial call for love suggests an emotional plea coming from a place of vulnerability. The repetition of the lines "sitting here on waiting, anticipating" conveys a sense of stagnation and uncertainty, as if the singer is stuck in a state of hopefulness that borders on desperation. The request for the partner to "show love" indicates a need for affirmation and reciprocation, as there is an underlying fear of unrequited love or emotional neglect. This highlights the emotional stakes of the relationship, suggesting that without mutual affection, the singer feels lost and uncertain.
In the first verse, Ginjah delves deeper into the singer's inner turmoil, articulating a sense of confusion and frustration. The line "It's been awhile you're on my mind" reveals that this is not a fleeting infatuation but a deeper emotional investment that has persisted over time. The phrase "discombobulated get off my line" illustrates the singer's mental state, where the partner's mixed signals cause distress and make it hard to focus. The acknowledgment that "your love ain't mine" suggests a painful recognition that the other party may not be equally invested. Yet, despite this betrayal, there is still a flicker of hope that the partner will reciprocate the affection "a thousand times," which showcases the singer's yearning and eagerness to be loved back.
In the second verse, the emotional complexity deepens as the singer reflects on their perception of love. The line "sure enough baby, seem I'm blind I can't even see," indicates a sense of self-awareness and perhaps folly in recognizing the emotional dynamics at play. The singer acknowledges that love should feel innate and effortless, as articulated in the phrase "love comes naturally." However, this realization brings underlying feelings of disillusionment as the singer suspects that the partner is selfish, prioritizing personal interests over mutual affection. The use of "I’ve got this feeling" implies an intuition or gut feeling guiding the singer’s thoughts and actions, which cumulatively creates tension in the relationship.
The outro of the song emphasizes the lyrical theme once again, reiterating the call for love and connection. The phrase "you better show love" not only serves as an ultimatum but also encapsulates the urgency of the singer's plea. It communicates an expectation that love is a mutual path that requires effort and commitment from both parties involved. Therein lies the recognition of the necessity for emotional reciprocity, as the singer feels unfulfilled and neglected. Overall, “Show Love” resonates with themes of longing, frustration, and the quest for mutual affection, reflecting the complexities of love and human connection in contemporary relationships.
