Ginuwine can be spotted in one of Jodeci's videos. There, he met rapper Missy Elliott and producer "Timbaland", who became his main collaborators through the 1990s. Ginuwine's first single, the 1996 " Pony" from Ginuwine...The Bachelor, showcased his smooth vocals and Timbaland's innovative production style, and the two became a hit-making duo.
After his second album, 100% Ginuwine, released in 1999, Ginuwine and Timbaland grew apart, and producers such as R. Kelly have crafted hits for him since then. In 2001, Ginuwine had a number-four hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single " Differences", which also peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. In 2002, Ginuwine was a feature artist on P. Diddy's number-one hit "I Need a Girl (Part II)".
Ginuwine's fifth album, Back II Da Basics, was released on November 15, 2005. The album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200, selling close to 100,000 copies. Ginuwine stated on BET's Top 100 countdown that the album went Gold with sales of 500,000 copies.
In May 2007, an album entitled I Apologize was released in stores. Although attributed to Ginuwine, the release was an unauthorized album and only included three Ginuwine songs - apparently from stolen masters - and ten songs by other artists. Ginuwine spoke against the unofficial release on both his MySpace page and through YouTube.
Ginuwine's sixth album entitled A Man's Thoughts, was released on June 23, 2009. Ginuwine formed a group with Tank and Tyrese named TGT. Their first single was a remix of Tank's "Please Don't Go". They were supposed to tour but plans fell apart due to conflicting schedules.
Ginuwine announced on his Myspace Blog on August 21, 2008 that due to label and legal issues they will not be able to release an official TGT album. Ginuwine is the founder and CEO of LoveSong Incorporated, after completing his contract with 550 Music/Epic. Ginuwine announced on his Myspace blog on August 21, 2008 that he signed a major label deal with Notifi Records/Warner Brothers.

I seen a lot of people tryin' to be like me
Timbaland, I know you have, know what i'm sayin'?
But we goin' hit 'em like this
Check it out
[Chorus]
None of y'all want to go against me
But this go 'round I'ma show you once
Said that you don't got what it take
None of y'all want to go toe to toe
Face to face, head to head, blow for blow
And this go 'round I'ma show you once
Said that you don't got what it takes
Listen
What's mines is mines and yours is yours
You were violated when you walked through the door
Can't nobody see Ginuwine and the Fam'
Stepped up in the business and we changed all your plans
Entertained our people, gave 100 damn percent
Never dream how much that all of us would get bent
To all of those who want it won't you just quit it
You ain't seen a thing until you all have come wit it
No need to trick nigga, take your pick
'cause on this CD every song's a hit
My whole damn crew, can't a soul get wit
So don't even hate 'cause you can't touch it
[Chorus]
I'm a get respect one way or the other
Even if I take it, I'ma make you want to
Go get your crew but they can't help you
Now it's you and I, and you know you're through
I'm gonna nod who ever think they can
Get wit Ginuwine and Timbaland
Step to the plate ya take your swing
Now it's my turn watch me do my thing
[Chorus]
The lyrics to Ginuwine's song Toe 2 Toe convey a sense of confidence and defiance. The chorus in particular highlights Ginuwine's belief in his own abilities, making it clear that he sees himself as someone who can't be beaten. He challenges anyone who dares to challenge him to a fight, insisting that they will come up short. The verses contain more personal reflections, with Ginuwine talking about his own experiences in the music industry and the hard work he has put in to get where he is today. He suggests that he is a trailblazer, someone who has changed the game and overcome obstacles, and that he has no time for those who want to copy him or bring him down.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a deep sense of pride and self-assuredness, as well as a fierce determination to keep pushing forward no matter what. There is also a hint of aggression and competitiveness, which adds to the intensity of the song.
