Ginuwine can be spotted in one of Jodeci's videos. There, he met rapper Missy Elliott and producer "Timbaland", who became his main collaborators through the 1990s. Ginuwine's first single, the 1996 " Pony" from Ginuwine...The Bachelor, showcased his smooth vocals and Timbaland's innovative production style, and the two became a hit-making duo.
After his second album, 100% Ginuwine, released in 1999, Ginuwine and Timbaland grew apart, and producers such as R. Kelly have crafted hits for him since then. In 2001, Ginuwine had a number-four hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single " Differences", which also peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. In 2002, Ginuwine was a feature artist on P. Diddy's number-one hit "I Need a Girl (Part II)".
Ginuwine's fifth album, Back II Da Basics, was released on November 15, 2005. The album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200, selling close to 100,000 copies. Ginuwine stated on BET's Top 100 countdown that the album went Gold with sales of 500,000 copies.
In May 2007, an album entitled I Apologize was released in stores. Although attributed to Ginuwine, the release was an unauthorized album and only included three Ginuwine songs - apparently from stolen masters - and ten songs by other artists. Ginuwine spoke against the unofficial release on both his MySpace page and through YouTube.
Ginuwine's sixth album entitled A Man's Thoughts, was released on June 23, 2009. Ginuwine formed a group with Tank and Tyrese named TGT. Their first single was a remix of Tank's "Please Don't Go". They were supposed to tour but plans fell apart due to conflicting schedules.
Ginuwine announced on his Myspace Blog on August 21, 2008 that due to label and legal issues they will not be able to release an official TGT album. Ginuwine is the founder and CEO of LoveSong Incorporated, after completing his contract with 550 Music/Epic. Ginuwine announced on his Myspace blog on August 21, 2008 that he signed a major label deal with Notifi Records/Warner Brothers.
What's So Different?

What's so different?
If you cheated on him,
how do i know you're not gonna cheat on me
I need to tell you something, check this out
You say you love me
But at one time you loved him so what's so different
What would you do or think of me would you trust me
But your feeding me
all this rap about
how its different but its not mentioned what you're doing is wicked
Now I'm having second thoughts about
you and me 'cause this is not how I want it or it should be
You say you want my trust and told me you were leavin'
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your tellin' me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Your creepin' on him for me but you say just trust me
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your telling me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Like saying goes you reep what you sow
And what goes around
comes back around to you five times harder and I'm pretty sure
that he's thinking, that you're totally his
but you're here in my rimmed up drop top with me all hugged up
And all over me kissin' all of me
Is that to get me where you want me to be I don't want this to happen to me
So I'll drop you off go back to your man 'cause really this ain't me
You say you want my trust and told me you were leavin'
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your tellin' me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Your creepin' on him for me but you say just trust me
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your telling me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Baby tell me one thing how could you do it
What did he do to you does he know he blew it
Or is it just that you wanna get even
baby if that's not it please tell me the reason
I just don't wanna get caught up in drama
If you don't want him just tell him don't cheat on him
If you don't tell him me and you can't be
'Cause tell me how I'll know you won't do that shit to me
You say you want my trust and told me you were leavin'
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your tellin' me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Your creepin' on him for me but you say just trust me
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your telling me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
You say you want my trust and told me you were leavin'
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your tellin' me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
Your creepin' on him for me but you say just trust me
How am I to know that you won't do it to me
Your telling me its different but what the hell is different
If you cheated on him you'll do it to me
In Ginuwine's "What's So Different?", he expresses his doubts and concerns about a woman he is involved with who previously cheated on her ex-partner. He questions her loyalty and honesty, wondering if she could do the same to him. He asks what is different between her past relationship and theirs that would prevent her from cheating again. He also suggests that what goes around comes back around and that her actions may come back to haunt her. He concludes that he does not want to get caught up in drama and will end things with her to avoid being hurt.
The lyrics of the song reveal the artist's insecurities and the difficulties of trusting someone who has cheated before. It is a common theme in relationships, as past behavior may affect future actions. Ginuwine's emotive singing and the catchy melody make the song relatable and resonate with listeners who may have experienced similar situations.
