Giovanni Zarrella (* 4 March 1978 in Hechingen) is a German-Italian musician and television presenter. He became known in 2001 as the singer of the band Bro'Sis.
Youth
Giovanni Zarrella saw the light of day on 4 March 1978, as the first child of Clementina and Bruno Zarrella, in Hechingen. Just like his sister Maria and brother Stefano, Zarrella grew up bilingual. He took piano and organ lessons at a young age and singing lessons at the age of 15. Zarrella was also active in sports as a passionate football player. He made it to the B-youth team of AS Rome when his family lived in Italy for a year. At the age of 16, he founded his first band Brotherhood. After graduating from high school, he did an apprenticeship as an IT systems clerk. After that, Zarrella moved to the sales department of Hugo Boss.

Bro’Sis
On 10 October 2001, Zarrella took part in a casting for the programme "Popstars" in Stuttgart together with 1,702 other applicants. He was able to convince the jury with How Deep is your Love by the Bee Gees. In the re-call he was successful with You remind me by Usher and was tested for his band ability in the re-call with Way To Mars by Somersault & Xavier Naidoo.
In the "airport show" in Düsseldorf, the candidates first had to undergo dance training with Detlef Soost and then vocal training with vocal coach Artemis Gounaki before it was decided who would be allowed to take part in the two-week workshop in Ibiza.
Here, three female and five male candidates remained from the 33 candidates at the end of the workshop, who moved into a loft in Munich. In a special broadcast on 11 November 2001, Zarrella was chosen by jury members Soost and Christensen to be the last member of the band Bro'Sis, which, however, disbanded in 2006.
Solo television career
After the end of Bro'Sis, Zarrella tried to stay present in the media far away from his singing career through various appearances in series and shows.
In April 2005, Zarrella took part in the TV show Teufels Küche (Devil's Kitchen), in which he dropped out prematurely due to injury.
Together with his wife Jana Ina, he filmed the docu-soap Just married! for the ProSieben programme taff. - Frisch verheiratet! which depicted the everyday life of the couple in ten episodes[1]. On 30 August 2005, Zarrella married the Brazilian model Jana Ina, and the church wedding took place on 3 September 2005 in St. Matthew's Church in Bad Sobernheim (on the Nahe). The soap was extended for another season.
In November 2005, Zarrella began presenting the youth magazine Bravo Sport TV on DSF, which he hosted until the summer of 2007; in August 2006, he followed this with the presentation of the games of the World League eSport Bundesliga on DSF with the programme Screen Shot.
In October 2005, he and his wife took part in Das große ProSieben Tanzturnier.
On 28 August 2008, the celebrity documentary Jana Ina & Giovanni - Wir sind schwanger (Jana Ina & Giovanni - We are pregnant) started on ProSieben about Jana Ina's pregnancy and accompanied the couple until the birth of their son on 23 September 2008.
Zarrella also took part in the TV Total European Car Ball Championship on 6 June 2008, where he represented Italy.
Giovanni hosted the decision show of Popstars- Just 4 Girls in Bad Griesbach (Passau district). The show was broadcast on 20 November 2008.
Solo music career
Zarrella's first solo single Ticket to the Moon, a cover version of the ballad of the same name from the ELO album Time, was released on 7 July 2006, followed a month later by his album Coming Up. However, he was not able to continue the successful times of Bro'Sis with it. Both album and single failed to enter the charts.
After a two-year absence from the popular music business, Giovanni's second solo single Wundervoll, an Italian-German cover version by Robin Grubert, was released in the course of the start of the celebrity documentary on 17 October 2008 and entered the German single charts at number 9. The second solo album "Musica" was released on 21 November. 2008.

Ciao, bella, ciao
Alza il volume
Alza la radio
Ciao
Okay, andiamo, dai, su
Ciao (na, na, na, na, na)
Bella, bella, ciao (na, na, na, na, na)
Bella, bella, ciao (na, na, na, na, na)
Bella, ciao (na, na, na, na, na)
Bella, ciao, è stupenda la vita
Bella, ciao, quando sto qui con te
Bella, ciao, dalla mamma e dall'amico
Bella, ciao, e tu canta insieme a me
È una festa infinita, di meglio non c'è
Sento il ritmo della vita quando ballo insieme a te
È una forza infinita più grande di me
Prendiamoci le stelle e divertiamoci
A ballare qui
Bella, ciao (na, na, na, na, na)

Bella, ciao
The lyrics to Giovanni's song "Ciao!" capture the essence of an endless party, where a sense of joy and euphoria permeates the air. The opening lines "Buonasera, ragazzi, Ciao, bella, ciao" greet the partygoers, calling them to turn up the radio and enjoy the night. As the song progresses, the lyrics tell the listener of the magic of dancing and how it expresses the rhythm of life. The song celebrates the power of music to bring people together, to feel an infinite force bigger than oneself. The invitation is to take the stars, to make the most of the moment, and dance to the music until the morning.
Throughout the lyrics, the repetition of "na, na, na, na, na" serves as a means of creating a catchy and fun melody that enhances the song's liveliness. The refrains use "Bella, ciao," a melody from a folk song that became an anti-fascist anthem during the Second World War. The lyrics' message to enjoy life contrasts with the song's historical context and the song's use as a protest song against oppression.
In conclusion, Giovanni's "Ciao!" song is a fun and infectious tune that captures the spirit of a never-ending party. The lyrics' message invites us to embrace life and let the rhythm carry us away.
