Biology
Girls Aloud Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Feed me, say you need me
Without wicked games?
Come on and hold me,
Hug me, say you'll love me
And not my dirty brain.
Why don't you fool me,
Without wicked games?
Come on and hold me,
Hug me, say you'll love me
And not my dirty brain.
I got one Alabama return
That'll take me far away from you.
'cause when you take me in your arms
I turn to slave.
I can't be saved.
So I got my cappuccino to go
And I'm heading for the hills again.
'cause if we party anymore
We'll start a fire of pure desire.
Closer, your mind's firing blind
With your head in your face getting
Red in your heart beats closer
You fall on your knees and the
Geek at your feet says you're neat
And the beat gets closer.
You dive for the thrill at
The kill but your heart's had its fill
But it still creeps closer
You wanted to freeze but you're
Weak, in too deep,
And the beat
And the beat gets closer
Closer
Closer
Closer
Closer
Closer
Closer
Closer
We give it up
And then they take it away.
A girl's got to zip it up
And get her head in the shade.
Baby, if we give it up
It's just a matter of time
Before all the heavy stuff
Comes back to bite your behind.
You can't mistake my biology.
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
It's there in our thoughts
The magic number is in front of me
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
So easily caught
You can't mistake my biology
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
It's there in our thoughts
We're gonna cause a controversy
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
So easily caught
Why don't you fool me,
Feed me, say you need me
Without wicked games?
Come on and hold me,
Hug me, say you'll love me
And not my dirty brain.
Why don't you fool me,
Feed me, say you need me
Without wicked games?
Come on and hold me,
Hug me, say you'll love me
And not my dirty brain.
You can't mistake my biology.
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
It's there in our thoughts
The magic number's in front of me
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
So easily caught
You can't mistake my biology
The way that we talk
The way that we walk

The lyrics of Girls Aloudβs song Biology seem to talk about the desire and the longing a person can feel towards someone who they cannot resist. In the first verse, the lyrics ask for the other person to show affection without playing games, suggesting that the singer is tired of being fooled and wants to connect on a genuine level. In the second verse, the singer talks about leaving and escaping the situation because they cannot resist the other personβs hold on them.
The chorus talks about the idea that their biology is what connects them - the way they talk and walk, and how they cannot help but be drawn to each other. The lyrics express the idea that the singer has a deep, almost biological attraction to the other person, something that cannot be denied. The song then ends with another repetition of the chorus, emphasizing the idea of the unbreakable attraction between the two individuals.

This song is essentially four different choruses, it's absolutely genius!
@laminage
Yes, not even Phil Spector could something as clever as this. Ironically Xenomania were influenced by Phil Spector as well as Motown. For a long time I used to wonder why British Artists always said Tamla/Motown but in The UK that's how their Records were released.
@paulstestingrants7524
Exactly. Like three songs with a similar theme smashed together....
@gavinevans4711
Thinking the same thing. A few different tunes crafted together. It works for me. Not sure which but I like best.

Oh here's another fun fact. As you know when she auditioned to be in Girls Aloud Nicola Roberts Sang "River Deep Mountain High" which was one of the Last Records Phil worked on. She also as you know won The Masked Singer. In the US Kandi Buress won who was a member of Xscape a popular Female R & B Group and she also sang River Deep Mountain High. She is also a Real Life Housewife Of Atlanta, and she wrote TLC's Comeback Hit "Scrubs" as well as "There You Go" for Pink.
@Coneman3

The choreographer clearly gave them like two run-throughs of the dance, before running out of time and just saying "Fuck it, this'll do".
