Prior to the formation of Girls Can't Catch, Brown was a member of Hope, a girl group which rose to fame on The X Factor. Hope made into the live shows, but were the seventh act eliminated (fifth place overall). Agnew, of MTV's Urban Base, was voted as the winner of the original Hugo Urban Rules (2006) by US soul legend Jo, UK rapper Sway, and Terri Walker. She went on to work with Colin Emmanual (aka 'C' Swing) and Gerard Logan (aka SoundBwoy), and the 411's Tisha Martin and Tanya Bonyface. In 2009, she was invited to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest, recording the original version of "My Time" with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren.
The group's name was originally offered to The Saturdays, but the group turned it down. They first became known while performing as the opening act for Girls Aloud on their 'Out of Control Tour' in 2009. Their debut single entitled "Keep Your Head Up" was released August 2, 2009 and entered the UK singles chart at 26. They performed at the iTunes Festival, performing "Keep Your Head Up", "Red" (Daniel Merriweather cover) and their second single "Echo". Echo was originally scheduled for a November release, but was pushed back for unknown reasons, with a new release date of 18 January 2010. Phoebe Brown quit in 2010 to go to University. The group subsequently split.

Keep Your Head Up
Girls Can't Catch Lyrics

You don't even know how long
I have been waiting for this day, hey
I've been thinking about
All the reasons I had to get even
And to cause you pain, oh
The girl is justified, oh
But all I'm gonna do is turn
And walk away tonight
To-ni-ni-night
Though I don't want to
And I don't need to
Be taking the fight
I'm lady-like
I'm not gonna stop
Oh, I don't want to
And I don't need to
But no matter how hard it gets
My mama always says to
Keep your head up
Your head up, your head up
Your head up, up
And no matter what
Your head up
Your head up
Your head up, up, up, up, up
I've had all kinds of fantasies
Even romantacy's
Of what to do when
The time was right, right
You would beg me for mercy
Told me you ain't worth it
And boy, I'd even make you cry, oh
It would be so easy now
To make you feel so bad, so bad
But all I'm gonna do is bite my lip
And leave it at that
At that, that, that
Though I don't want to
And I don't need to
Be taking the fight
I'm lady-like
I'm not gonna stop
Oh, I don't want to
And I don't need to
But no matter how hard it gets
My mama always says to
Keep your head up
Your head up
Your head up
Your head up, up, up
And no matter what
Your head up
Your head up
Your head up, up, up, up, up
Oooooo
I really don't have the time
Because you're really no friend of mine
I really should make you pay
Though I don't want to
And I don't need to
Be taking the fight
I'm lady-like
I'm not gonna stop
Oh, I don't want to
And I don't need to
But no matter how hard it gets
My mama always says to
(Keep your head up)
Though I don't want to
And I don't need to
Be taking the fight, (taking the fight) I'm lady-like
I'm not gonna stop
Oh, I don't want to
And I don't need to
But no matter how hard it gets
My mama always says to
Keep your head up
(Always said)
Your head up
(Always said)
Your head up
Your head up, up
And no matter what
Your head up
Your head up
Your head up, up, up, up, up

This day is the culmination of a long period of waiting for me

But all I'm gonna do is turn
However, I will choose to do something else
And walk away tonight
I am going to put this behind me and move on
To-ni-ni-night

Although I am reluctant to
And I don't need to
I don't have to do this

And I would even derive pleasure from making you weep
It would be so easy now
It would be effortless to do this now
To make you feel so bad, so bad
To cause you intense emotional distress

However, I will control my impulses and refrain from acting out
And leave it at that
I will not escalate the situation further
At that, that, that
I will stop there

Such a shame they split, I loved this group! :)
@Primevalrules2009
It's a shame that they were dropped by Polydor after just two singles, I think with a bit of a push they could've made it up to the top of the charts like their fellow label mates The Saturdays and Girls Aloud, whatever the girls are doing now, I wish them all the best :)
@milliebasheer
Pheobe is my cousin, and I can say that the girls aren’t really in touch anymore but pheobe is happy :)
