Flowers (second album was recorded). Members: Thomas Lücke (vocals) Zaphor (guitars) Hauke Harms (keyboards), Axel Ermes (bassplayer). In 1990 Zaphor left Cancer Barrack and concentrated on the third GUG album. Main singer Thomas Lücke left the band and Zaphor took over the singers part. Additional drums on tour were played by Tippi Agogo (musician from Vancouver and close friend to The Legendary Pink Dots and Skinny Puppy musicians-scene).
Firewalker was recorded in 1997. The hardest record GUG ever made. Totally inspired by the American industrial metal & electro music scene such as NIN, KMFDM, Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, etc. Girls asked ex-KMFDM drummer Rudi Naomi to join the band for the tour. GUG toured together with Deathline Int´l, a German-American-electro-act.

Deliverance
Girls Under Glass Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In the night, in the night
We walk together hand in hand
In the darkness, side by side
When the dawn is coming
You go home
You said you go forever
Love is like a red rose
Beautiful she shines
Until you start to own
She begins to die alone
Love becomes a dead roses
Beauty without substance
Living in a wrong world
Waiting for deliverance
Deliverance
The song "Deliverance" by Girls Under Glass is about the fleeting nature of love and the pain that comes with its eventual end. The first verse sets the scene of two lovers walking together under a starry night sky, united in their love and joined by their hands. But as the dawn approaches, the lover must leave, promising to never return, leaving the singer alone.
The second verse uses the metaphor of a red rose to describe the beauty of love. However, the more one tries to possess it, the faster it begins to wither, eventually dying. The chorus speaks of love becoming a "dead rose", with beauty but no substance, trapped in a world where deliverance, or relief from this pain, seems impossible.
The lyrics are incredibly poetic in their use of metaphor and symbolism, highlighting the pain of lost love and the desire for deliverance or release. The theme is universal, but the strong imagery used by the writer add depth and meaning to the song.
