Love At First Sight
Gist Lyrics

Just havin' one those days, yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you
And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out to fill up the sky
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
'Cause baby, when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
I was tired of running out of luck
Thinkin' 'bout giving up, yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you
And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out to fill up the sky
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
It was love at first sight
'Cause baby, when I heard you (when I heard you)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one (to be as one)
'Cause baby, when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
Everythin' went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky (up the sky)
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
It was love at first sight
Love at first sight
Love at first sight
Love
Ooh, it was love, it was love at first sight
'Cause baby, when I heard you (when I heard you)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one (to be as one)
'Cause baby, when I heard you (when I heard)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
It was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
Ooh, it was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
Ooh, it was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
The song Love At First Sight by Gist talks about how the singer was having a bad day and feeling like everything was going wrong until they heard someone playing music. The moment they heard the music, everything felt right, and they knew that they were meant to be with that person. The lyrics talk about how the music blew their mind and how it was love at first sight. The overall theme of the song is that sometimes, all it takes is a moment, a person, or a piece of music to make everything in life seem better and to fall in love with someone.

The last line of the lyric is actually "More than a fake heart bleeding." Thanks for all the wonderful Comments, much appreciated. A couple more things: the chord sequence is: A#m/F#/G#/D#m, played as barre chords, with each chord being pulled three times, four strings all at once, in the string order: 6543/5432/4321. Secondly, as I write, (September 2019) I am about to embark on a new live solo set with many of the songs featuring backing tracks which I have edited specially from the original multitrack tapes. "Love At First Sight" is one such although the original tapes (pre the Rough Trade release) were not in concert pitch so Im am using a more 90s version which I made with Louis Philippe when we covered "Paris le Flore" for a charity album.
